When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed:
- Read all instructions before operating. Detailed instructions are available online at drbrownsbaby.com/customer-support.
- Failure to operate the product correctly can result in damage to the product and/or personal property, and cause serious injury.
To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock:
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged. If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified person.
- Do not place unit or power cord on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or near an open flame.
- Do not let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before adding water, cleaning, or descaling. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not use appliance for anything other than intended use.
- Do not attempt disassembly.
- This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- Ensure that the wall outlet voltage matches the voltage of the appliance.
To reduce the risk of injury or burns:
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot liquids.
- Do not touch hot surfaces, including the heating element, during or immediately after use. When the cycle is complete, carefully remove contents by hand or with lift-out basket.
- Do not open lid or reach over the appliance while in use, as steam may cause burns and serious injuries.
- Do not use the sterilizing lid for warming.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children. This appliance shall not be used or played with by children. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Beware of steam and avoid spilling or splashing water on yourself when removing contents.
- Food should not be heated for too long. Always test temperature before feeding your baby. Before feeding, pour a few drops of contents from bottle or food jar onto the back of your hand to test the temperature.
- To protect against property damage, place appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- To operate, plug cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, ensure the unit is off, then remove plug from wall outlet.

Special Cord Instructions
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally.

Warming Bottles and Food Jars
CAUTION: Always unplug the warmer before filling. DO NOT use the Sterilizing Lid for warming. Using the lid will trap heat and overheat the bottle.
- Remove the Measuring Cup from the rear of the warmer.
- Add water to the Measuring Cup, following the Warming Guide to determine the amount of water to add based on your bottle type.
- Pour the water from the Measuring Cup directly into the Warming Chamber. Do not overfill, as overfilling may cause the bottle/food jar to be overheated or may cause damage to the unit.
- Replace the Measuring Cup, uncoil the power cord, and plug in the unit.
- Place the bottle or food jar inside the Warming Chamber as outlined below:
Bottle Types:
- Wide Neck Bottle: Place bottle directly into Warming Chamber.
- Narrow Bottle: Place Adapter Ring on top of Warming Chamber, then place bottle in Warming Chamber. The adapter ring will keep your bottle centered over the heating plate for even warming.
- Food Jar: Place food jar into the Lift-Out Basket, then place Lift-Out Basket in Warming Chamber. Always remove the lid of the food jar prior to warming. After warming cycle is complete, be sure to stir food thoroughly until it is an even temperature throughout.
To prevent leakage when warming Dr. Brown's® bottles, remove the internal parts, collar, and nipple/teat, and replace with the included Storage Cap.
- Press the Start Button. The Indicator Light will turn on, indicating the warming cycle has begun.
WARNING: DO NOT reach over the appliance while in use, as steam will cause burns and serious injuries. Do not touch hot surfaces during or immediately after use.
CAUTION: Always add water and then press the Start Button. If the Start Button is pressed first, steam may form when water is added.
Note: If the Start Button is pressed without water added, the unit will shut off automatically after a short period. If this happens, wait at least 10 minutes to allow warmer to cool before adding water and starting warming cycle.
- When the Indicator Light turns off, the warmer has used all of the water in the Warming Chamber and the warming cycle is done. Remove the bottle/food jar promptly to avoid overheating. Components may be hot, use care in removing them from the warmer/sterilizer. Gently stir or swirl contents to ensure it warms evenly. DO NOT shake.
Note: Always test the temperature before feeding your baby. Adjust the amount of water added to the warming chamber as needed; if the bottle/food jar is too cold, add slightly more water next time. If the bottle/food jar is too warm, use slightly less water next time.
- Unplug the warmer to stop the warming cycle. Wait at least 10 minutes to allow warmer to cool before using again.

Always retrieve the sterilized parts by removing the Lift-Out Basket.
Cleaning
CAUTION: Always turn off, unplug, and allow the unit to cool before cleaning.
- Bottle Warmer Unit: Wipe outer surface and inside the Warming Chamber with a damp cloth or sponge using mild liquid soap. Wipe with clean water and allow unit to air dry. DO NOT SUBMERGE UNIT IN WATER.
- Lift-Out Basket, Adapter Ring, Sterilizing Lid, and Measuring Cup: Dishwasher safe (top rack only) or wash with soapy water. Rinse with clean water and allow to air dry.
Descaling
It is recommended to descale your Insta-Feed™ Bottle Warmer every four weeks to ensure the unit continues to work properly. To descale, follow the steps below.
- Unplug the appliance from power.
- Mix 2 oz / 60 mL of white vinegar with 4 oz / 120 mL of water. DO NOT USE BLEACH.
- Pour the white vinegar and water mixture directly into the Warming Chamber.
- Allow the mixture to stand in the unit until any mineral deposits dissolve.
- Discard the cleaning mixture and rinse with clean water.
- Wipe the Warming Chamber dry with cloth or allow to air dry.
Note: Do not use bleach, harsh abrasives, or solvents to clean the warming chamber or heating elements as they may cause permanent damage and will void the warranty.
Troubleshooting
- If the warmer is not operating, check that the power cable is connected to the power outlet and water has been added to warming chamber.
- If Indicator Light does not come on/warming cycle does not start, warmer may be cooling down. Wait 10 minutes and try again.
- If Indicator Light comes on upon plugging in but before Start Button is pressed, it is possible the Start Button was pressed while the warmer was unplugged. Wait for the warming cycle to end (Indicator Light will turn off) and allow the unit to cool down for 10 minutes before using.
- If bottle/food is too warm/too cold after warming cycle, note the Warming Guide only shows approximate amount of water needed. Warming times are impacted by many variables, so adjust the amount of water added as needed. If the bottle/food jar is too cold, add slightly more water next time. If the bottle/food jar is too warm, use slightly less water next time.
