Key Combination Functions

Key lock

Press and hold the EMG+F keys simultaneously to activate/deactivate the key lock function.

Country standard selection

Turn off the radio. Hold down the F/MEM key while turning the radio on again. Use the Up and Down keys to select the desired standard. Turn the radio on again.

Refer to the standards and frequencies table at the end of the manual.

Instructions for Use

On/Off and Volume

With the radio off, turn the On/Off button clockwise to turn it on. Continue turning in both directions to adjust the volume. Turn it counterclockwise until you hear a click to turn it off.

Channel selection

Press the Up and Down keys on the radio or microphone to change channels. Hold them down to scroll faster.

Transmission and reception

Press the PTT key on the microphone to transmit. The red LED around the ASQ/SQ button lights up, and the power level is displayed on the screen. Release the PTT key to stop transmitting.

ASQ/SQ/Monitor

Talkback

During transmission, press the MODE key to activate/deactivate Talkback. Use Up/Down keys to adjust volume (9 levels).

Channel scan

Long press the SCAN key to activate/deactivate channel scan. Use Up/Down keys to change scanning direction. The radio scans until a valid signal is found and stays on that channel for 5 seconds.

Pressing the PTT key during scan: If scanning, it transmits on the selected channel before scanning. If receiving or in pause, it transmits on the received channel. Scanning resumes 5 seconds after PTT release, unless another signal is registered.

CTCSS/DCS

Shortly press the F key, then the CTC/DCS key to enter the CTCSS/DCS interface. Use Up/Down keys to navigate codes/tones. Press EMG key to confirm.

Additional functions menu

To enter the menu: short press F, then long press F. Use Up/Down keys to navigate. Press EMG to enter a submenu. Use Up/Down keys to navigate submenu options. Press EMG to save and exit. Long press F to exit the menu.

Menu Options:

  1. Key Beep: On/Off.
  2. ANL (Automatic Noise Limiter): On/Off.
  3. HI-CUT: On/Off.
  4. Noise Blanker (NB): On/Off.
  5. Roger Bepp (RG BEEP): On/Off.
  6. Screen Brightness (DIMMER): 3 levels available.
  7. Backlight Color (COLOR): 7 colors available.
  8. NRC Level Setting (NRC SET): 5 levels available.
  9. VOX Level Setting (VOX SET): 5 sensitivity levels available.
  10. RG GAIN Level Setting (RF GAIN): 7 levels available, plus Off.
  11. Recording (REPLAY): On/Off. Records received signal only (max 20 RX conversations). To listen, short press REPLAY/NRC and use Up/Down keys.
  12. SWR: Radio enters transmit mode (4W±1W) without PTT. Measurement time up to 5 minutes. Adjust antenna. Continuous beep at SWR 1.0. Beep interval increases with SWR value. Beep volume adjustable. SWR value displayed (e.g., 2.5). Press PTT to exit SWR measurement.
