Product Instruction
The SYNCO G2(A2) system consists of a receiver (RX) and two transmitters (TX).
TX Transmitter Components:
- External Mic Input: 3.5mm TRS jack for connecting an external microphone.
- Type-C Charging Port: For charging the transmitter.
- On/Off Button: Powers the device on/off and controls mute.
- Built-in Mic: Integrated microphone for capturing audio.
- Display Screen: Shows status information like power, gain, and connection.
- Noise Reduction Button: Adjusts noise cancellation levels.
- Gain Adjustment of TX: Controls the audio input gain.
- Magnet Pocket Clip: For attaching the transmitter to clothing or surfaces.
RX Receiver Components:
- Type-C Charging Port / Digital Output: For charging and digital audio output.
- On/Off Button (Mono / Stereo / Safety Channel): Powers the receiver on/off and switches audio output modes.
- 3.5mm TRS Output: For connecting to cameras or other audio devices.
- 3.5mm Monitoring Port: For connecting headphones to monitor audio.
- Display Screen: Shows status information for both TX transmitters and the receiver.
- Gain Adjustment of TX A: Controls the audio gain from Transmitter A.
- Gain Adjustment of TX B: Controls the audio gain from Transmitter B.
- Magnet Pocket Clip: For attaching the receiver to clothing or surfaces.
Display Screen Information:
The display screens on both TX and RX units provide crucial information:
- Power Indicator: Shows the connection status between TX and RX (Disconnected, Connecting, Connected).
- Recording Mode: Indicates the selected output mode (Mono, Stereo, Safety Channel).
- Gain: Displays the audio input gain level for each transmitter (TX A, TX B).
- Audio Dynamic Display: Visualizes the audio signal strength.
- Noise Reduction Status: Indicates if noise reduction is on or off, and at what level.
Operations
1. Power On/Off
- Power On: Long press the power button on both TX and RX units for 3 seconds. The display screen will light up.
- Power Off: Long press the power button on both TX and RX units for 3 seconds. The display screen will turn off.
2. Pairing
- Automatic Pairing: The TX and RX units automatically pair after powering on.
- Manual Pairing:
- Long press the power button on the transmitter and receiver simultaneously for 3 seconds to power them off.
- After shutdown, long press the power button on both the transmitter and receiver for 8 seconds simultaneously to enter the [connecting] state.
Note: Before successful connection, the transmitter channel displays 'A' by default. The first transmitter connected to the receiver becomes transmitter A, and the second becomes transmitter B.
3. Channel Output Connection
The receiver outputs audio signals to recording devices using appropriate cables:
- 3.5mm OUT Output:
- Use a 3.5mm TRS Camera Cable to connect to cameras.
- Use a 3.5mm TRRS Phone Cable to connect to smartphones.
- Type-C Port Digital Output: The receiver's Type-C port supports digital audio output. Connect it directly to mobile phones or computers using a Type-C to Type-C cable.
Note: When using an external microphone, ensure it is inserted correctly into the microphone input jack. Only TRS interface microphones are supported.
Note: When connecting to a computer, set the input microphone to 'SYNCO G2Pro' in sound settings for recording, and set the output speaker to 'SYNCO G2 Pro' for real-time ear return monitoring.
4. Real-time Monitoring
The receiver's 3.5mm monitoring port allows for digital monitoring. You can simultaneously listen to the sound source from the transmitter and the input sound source of the connected device. Headphone impedance should be under 100 Ω.
5. Volume Control
- Mute: Press the power button on the TX transmitter to turn the audio mute on or off.
- TX Gain: Short press the gain adjustment button on the TX transmitter to adjust the volume across 6 levels (0-3-6-9-12-15).
- RX Gain Adjustment: Short press the gain adjustment buttons (A/B TX) on the RX receiver to adjust the volume for Transmitter A and Transmitter B independently.
6. Noise Cancellation
Short press the noise cancellation button on the transmitter to cycle through noise control modes:
- Noise Cancellation Off
- Low-Level Noise Cancellation
- High-Level Noise Cancellation
7. Switch Channel Mode
Short press the power button on the RX receiver to switch between Mono, Stereo, and Safety Channel modes. The default mode is Mono.
8. Charging
Connect the 3-in-1 charging cable to the Type-C ports of the TX and RX units. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours. The grey end of the 3-in-1 charging cable can also be used for digital output.
9. Mic Windshield & Device Installation
Screw the microphone windshield onto the microphone for wind protection. The transmitters and receiver can be clipped onto clothing or equipment using their magnet pocket clips.
10. Setting The Recording Level Correctly
Camera preamps can often be noisy. To achieve the cleanest audio signal, it is recommended to set the recording level on your camera to a low setting (e.g., 1/2 or 1/3 of the maximum). The G2 system provides variable gain control, allowing you to tailor audio levels to your environment and recording device.
Example Adjustments for Cameras:
- SONY Camera (e.g., A7S II): Adjust 'Audio Rec Level' in the camera's sound settings.
- Canon Camera (e.g., EOS 5D Mark IV): Adjust 'Mic level Adj.' in the camera's sound settings.
- Panasonic Camera (e.g., LUMIX GH5): Adjust 'Mic level Adj.' in the camera's sound settings.
The goal is to balance the input signal from the SYNCO G2 system with the camera's sensitivity to minimize background noise.
