Getting started
Thank you for purchasing this John Lewis & Partners product. For your safety, and to make sure everything is working properly, please read the instructions carefully before use.
Warnings
To prevent electric shock, switch off at the mains supply before installing or maintaining this fitting. Ensure another person cannot restore the electricity supply without your knowledge.
If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
Always use the recommended bulb type and rated power. Never exceed the rated power stated.
The flexible cable on this luminaire, if damaged, shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person.
It is the installer's responsibility to ensure that the fixings and plugs used are suitable for the surface you are fixing your product on.
Caution! The bulb and surrounding parts can become hot during use. Do not cover. Keep away from curtains, bedding etc.
Always route mains cable so it does not present a hazard (entrapment, tripping etc.); Ensure that there are no twists or snags in the cable.
Plug into the mains supply; switch on using the inline cord switch provided.
When moving this lamp, always carry by holding the stand part (and not the glass).

Product assembly
Step 1: Unpack and Prepare
Unpack the product (A) and remove all packaging. Be careful not to scratch the surface of the product whilst removing the wrapping.
Lay the product out on the floor. If the floor is not carpeted, please cover it with a soft cloth to avoid damage to the flooring and surface of the product.
Assembly should take place with the product lying flat.
Step 2: Assemble Pole Sections
Attach the centre pole onto the lamp holder section by rotating into place. Ensure the lamp holder section is kept still, rotating only the centre pole. Take care not to allow the electrical cable to twist.
Attach the lower pole section to the centre section by rotating into place. Ensure the centre section is kept still, rotating only the lower pole. Take care not to allow the electrical cable to twist.
Step 3: Secure Pole to Base
Insert the pole assembly into the receiving socket on the floor lamp base, ensuring the product is in the intended orientation and facing forwards. Gently pull any excess cable through the base until the pole is fully inserted into the socket.
Using the Hex key provided, tighten the grub-screws (B) located at the back of the receiving collar to secure the pole assembly in place. Take care not to overtighten as this may cause damage to the fitting.
Step 4: Attach Base Pad
Attach the floor cover pad (C) to the underside of the floor lamp base, ensuring it is covered neatly and evenly.
Step 5: Fit Glass Shade
Fit the shade glass (D) by first loosening the three thumbscrews attached to the lamp holder section, but do not remove screws fully. Place the shade glass over the lamp holder until the fluted end of the shade is in contact with the lamp holder. Holding the shade in place, tighten the screws a little at a time so they secure the glass evenly on all sides. Take care not to overtighten as this may cause damage to the fitting. Ensure glass is fully secured before leaving unattended.
Step 6: Final Check
Stand the floor lamp upright and ensure all the assembled parts are fully tightened.
Your floor lamp is now ready to be plugged into the wall socket and is ready to use.

Aftercare and troubleshooting
You've switched on the light, but it's not working:
- Check your power supply is switched on.
- Turn off the light and check that the bulb is inserted correctly.
- Check the bulb is still in working order.
