FCC Interference Statement

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Note: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by HARMAN could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Product Information Regarding RF Energy Transmission

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference; and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

FCC/IC Radiation Exposure Statement

This equipment complies with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. FCC Caution: High power radars are allocated as primary users of the 5.25 to 5.35 GHz and 5.65 to 5.85 GHz bands. These radars could cause interference and/or damage to this device. No configuration controls are provided for this wireless device that allow changes to the operating frequencies outside the bounds of the FCC authorization for the U.S. product according to Part 15.407 of the FCC Rules. IC Caution: Users should also be advised that: (i) devices for operation in the band 5150–5250 MHz are only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems; (ii) the maximum antenna gain permitted for devices in the bands 5250–5350 MHz and 5470–5725 MHz shall comply with the e.i.r.p. limit; and (iii) the maximum antenna gain permitted for devices in the band 5725–5825 MHz shall comply with the e.i.r.p. limit as appropriate for point-to-point and non-point-to-point operation as applicable. (iv) Users should also be advised that high power radars are allocated as primary users of the bands 5250–5350 MHz and 5650–5850 MHz and that these radars could cause interference and/or damage to LE-LAN devices.

Human Exposure to RF Fields (RSS-102)

The computer contains low-level integrated antennas that emit radio frequency energy not in excess of the Emission Limits of Health Canada set for the general population; consult the Safety Code 6 of Health Canada, available from Health Canada's website: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/. The energy radiated from the antenna connected to the wireless adapter is in compliance with the radiated energy limits in Section 4 of RSS-102 of the IC for RF exposure. SAR testing was carried out using the recommended operating positions accepted by the FCC/RSS with the device transmitting at its highest confirmed output power level in all tested frequency bands, at a distance from the body. Failure to adhere to the above limitations could result in a violation of FCC RF exposure guidelines. Usage Restrictions: In France, operation is restricted to indoor use within the band 5150-5350 MHz.

This directive applies to all types of batteries and accumulators (including those embedded in appliances, except for military, medical, and power tool applications) including button cells, alkaline, NiMH, etc. The directive governs the collection, treatment, recycling, and disposal of batteries and accumulators and restricts the use of certain hazardous substances. It also aims to improve the environmental performance of batteries and all actors in the supply chain.

User Instructions for Battery Removal, Recycling, and Disposal

Remove the battery from the equipment or remote control by following the reverse steps of the battery installation procedure described in the owner's manual. For products with built-in batteries that last the lifetime of the product, the user may not be able to remove them. In such cases, recycling or recovery of the product will be necessary, and the battery must be serviced by authorized service centers. In the European Union and other locations, it is illegal to dispose of any battery together with household waste. All batteries must be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. Contact your local waste management officials for information regarding environmentally sound collection, recycling, and disposal of used batteries.

Caution: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions. The symbol for separate collection for all batteries and accumulators is the crossed-out wheeled bin shown below:

Note:

  • To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for prolonged periods.

If the battery, accumulator, and button cell contain more than 0.0005% of mercury, more than 0.002% of cadmium, or more than 0.004% of lead by weight, then the chemical symbol for the metal shall be marked beside the symbol: Hg, Cd or Pb respectively. See the symbol below:

  • Hg
  • Cd
  • Pb

Caution: Do not swallow battery, Chemical burn hazard. The product supplied with a remote control contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
