Important Safeguards and Warnings
WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a grounded, three-pronged plug. Ensure connection to properly grounded outlets only. Do not modify the plug or use an adapter. Do not use with a voltage other than specified.
A short power supply cord is provided. To avoid electrical circuit overload, do not use high wattage appliances on the same circuit.
General Safety Precautions:
- Use the kettle only with the delivered kettle base provided by Fellow.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use for extended periods and before cleaning.
- Allow the appliance to cool before putting on/taking off parts or cleaning.
- To disconnect, press the dial to switch "OFF" and then remove the plug from the outlet. Do not pull the cord itself.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or if the kettle malfunctions or has been damaged. Return to an authorized service facility.
- Ensure your main supply voltage matches the appliance's rating.
- To avoid electrical overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
- Use of accessory attachments not recommended by Fellow may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not place any utensils into the kettle.
- Dispose of all plastic bags after unpacking to prevent hazards to children.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of tables or counters, or touch hot surfaces. Do not use an extension cord.
- Remove the kettle from the base before filling. Ensure the bottom of the kettle is dry before placing it on the base.
- Operate the kettle on a flat surface away from the edge of the counter to prevent accidental tipping.
- Never move the kettle and base together while the unit is in use.
Warnings to Prevent Scalding:
- Never use the kettle without its lid.
- Do not remove the lid while the kettle is boiling.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during heating or brewing.
- Be aware of steam emitted from the spout or lid, especially during refilling.
- Water can remain hot for a long time after boiling, presenting a scalding hazard. Keep the kettle and base away from edges and out of children's reach. Do not remove the lid until the kettle cools down.
WARNING: Do not fill above the Maximum Fill Point. Overfilling may expel hot water, increasing scalding risk.
We suggest using only the amount of water needed to conserve water and energy.
WARNING: Do not operate dry or below the Minimum Fill Point.
Diagram B: Fill Points Description
The kettle has a Maximum Fill Point and a Minimum Fill Point marked inside. The Stagg EKG requires a minimum of 333 ml (11 fl oz) to function. Dry boiling can cause permanent damage and potential fire. The Minimum Fill Point is approximately 1 inch (2.54 cm) above the kettle's floor.
Important Safeguards Continued:
- Use extreme caution when carrying the kettle containing hot water to avoid burns and injury.
- Do not use the kettle if your hands are wet.
- Position the kettle properly on the kettle base before switching on.
- After use, wait until the kettle has cooled down before removing the lid. Turn the spout away from walls or cabinets to avoid steam damage.
- If setting down the kettle body on a surface after heating, use a protective pad to prevent surface damage.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover or disassemble the base or kettle. There are no user-serviceable parts. Repair must be done by authorized service personnel only. Opening the unit voids the warranty.
- Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
- Use the kettle only for its intended purpose (household and commercial use). Use for other purposes voids the warranty.
Grounded Plug:
This appliance has a grounded, three-prong plug and must be used with a three-prong outlet. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Do not attempt to bypass this safety feature.
Do Not Heat an Empty Kettle:
The heating element is protected by an automatic safety device. If the kettle is heated without water or boils dry, it will automatically cool down and turn off. If this occurs, unplug the kettle, fill with cold water, and wait a few minutes before placing it on the base and plugging it in.

Initial Use and Cleaning
Diagram C: Initial Use
Diagram C illustrates the initial setup and use of the Stagg EKG.
Cleaning - First Time Use:
- Place Stagg EKG's base and kettle on a flat, level surface.
- Remove kettle from the base and remove the lid to add water. (Do not remove the lid if it is hot.)
- Rinse the interior of the kettle, then add water until approximately halfway full (between the Minimum Fill Point and Maximum Fill Point).
- Insert the lid, ensuring the spout is not close to or facing a wall or cabinet.
- Plug the power-supply cord into a wall outlet, following safety guidelines.
- Set the Goal temperature (refer to High Altitude Chart) to boil water.
- Once the Goal temperature is reached, continue to boil water for approximately one minute. Turn off the kettle with a quick press of the dial. The LCD screen will turn black.
- Discard the water inside the kettle. This water should not be consumed.
Your Stagg EKG is now ready to use.
Cleaning:
Before cleaning, ensure the base is unplugged and the kettle has cooled completely. Empty any remaining water from the kettle.
CAUTION: Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids, as this could cause permanent damage.
Do not place any parts of the kettle in a dishwasher.
Wipe the exterior of the kettle and base with a damp cloth or sponge, then dry. Do not use abrasive soaps, cleansers, or scouring pads, as they may damage the finish.
Over time, scaling and mineral deposits may build up inside the kettle, affecting boiling performance. Use a scale/lime remover according to the manufacturer's instructions when this occurs.
Storage:
Clean and dry all parts before storing. Store the kettle in its box or in a clean, dry place. Never wrap the power-supply cord around the kettle.
How to Use
Please read this entire Safety and Maintenance manual fully before turning on and using your kettle.
Turn Kettle On/Off:
To turn the Stagg EKG on, press the menu button OR the dial and wait for the screen to light up. To turn the Stagg EKG off, press the dial and wait for the screen to turn black.
Set Goal Temperature:
From the main screen when the Stagg EKG is powered on, turn the dial to change the goal temperature. Turn the dial clockwise to increase the goal temperature. Turn the dial counterclockwise to decrease the goal temperature.
Diagram D: ON/OFF
Diagram D shows the dial used for operation.
Once you reach your desired temperature, stop turning the dial. The Stagg EKG will display the set temperature momentarily and then begin heating. If the kettle is removed from the base and then replaced, it will start heating to the goal temperature immediately.
IMPORTANT: If Pre-Boil is enabled, the kettle will first heat to boiling before cooling down to your goal temperature.
High Altitude Use:
CAUTION: Water boils at lower temperatures in higher altitudes. If the Set temperature is higher than the boiling point at a given altitude, the Stagg EKG will continue to provide heat, potentially causing excess energy usage and damage to the kettle. Using the Altitude setting helps determine the maximum allowable target temperature based on user-input altitude to mitigate energy waste and risk of kettle damage.
High Altitude Chart:
Altitude | Boiling Point Of Water |
