Setting Up Your Thermostat

This guide provides instructions for connecting your Honeywell VisionPRO Wi-Fi Programmable Thermostat to your home Wi-Fi network and registering it for remote access.

Step 1: Connect to your Wi-Fi network

Before you begin, you can view an installation video by visiting wifithermostat.com.

1.1 Connect to your thermostat

Connect your wireless device (tablet, laptop, or smartphone) to your home network. Ensure the thermostat's message center displays "Wi-Fi SETUP".

On your wireless device, connect to the network named "NewThermostat_123456" (the number will vary). If prompted, select "Home Network".

1.2 Join your home network

Open your web browser and navigate to the Thermostat Wi-Fi Setup page. If not automatically directed, go to http://192.168.1.1. Select your home network name from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to join, which may include entering your home network password. If you encounter issues, ensure your home network is selected, not a guest network.

1.3 Make sure your thermostat is connected

The thermostat's message center will display "CONNECTING..." for up to 30 seconds. Verify that the message center displays one of the following: "CONNECTION SUCCESSFUL", "JOINED: [WI-FI NETWORK NAME]", "YOU ARE ALMOST DONE", or "REGISTER AT TOTAL CONNECT". If you see "CONNECTION FAILURE" or "Wi-Fi SETUP", re-enter your home network password or consult the FAQ at wifithermostat.com/support.

Step 2: Register online for remote access

To view and control your Wi-Fi thermostat remotely, you need a Total Connect Comfort account. You can view a registration video at wifithermostat.com/videos.

2.1 Open the Total Connect Comfort web site

Go to www.mytotalconnectcomfort.com.

2.2 Login or create an account

If you have an existing account, click "Login". Otherwise, click "Create An Account" and follow the on-screen instructions. Check your email for an activation message from My Total Connect Comfort (check junk mail if not received) and follow the activation instructions. Then, log in to your account.

2.3 Register your Wi-Fi thermostat

Once logged in, register your thermostat by following the on-screen instructions. You will need to enter your thermostat's unique identifiers: MAC ID and MAC CRC. These identifiers are found on the Thermostat ID Card included in the thermostat package. They are not case-sensitive.

Upon successful registration, the Total Connect Comfort screen will display a "SUCCESS" message, and the thermostat's message center will show "CONGRATULATIONS SETUP COMPLETE!". Your thermostat will also display its signal strength.

Congratulations! You can now control your thermostat from anywhere using your tablet, laptop, or smartphone.

The Total Connect Comfort app is available for Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) on iTunes or for Android devices on Google Play.

Getting Help

If you encounter issues during setup, restart the thermostat by removing it from the wallplate, waiting 5 seconds, and reattaching it. Return to Step 1.1. For more detailed information, refer to the User Guide.
