Hoymiles DTU-Pro(4G) Quick Installation Guide

1. Interface Layout

The Hoymiles DTU-Pro(4G) unit features several ports and indicators for monitoring and connectivity. The following table details each interface item:

2. Preparation

Before proceeding with the installation, ensure the following preparation steps are completed:

1. Download the Hoymiles Mobile Installer App onto your smartphone or tablet.
2. Verify that all necessary items are present in the box:
   • Hoymiles DTU-Pro unit
   • One 2.4G Antenna
   • One 4G Antenna
   • Power Adapter
   • Mounting Bracket
   • 5-Pin Plug
3. Choose your internet connection method: 4G or Ethernet. Prepare the required items:
   • For 4G: A compatible SIM Card.
   • For Ethernet: A Router Ethernet Cable.
   • A Smartphone/Tablet with the Hoymiles Installer App installed is needed for setup regardless of the connection type.

3. Installation

Follow these steps to install the DTU-Pro(4G) unit:

1. Connect the antennas: Screw the 2.4G antenna into the 2.4G port and the 4G antenna into the 4G port on the DTU.
2. SIM Card Insertion (for 4G option): Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot located on the side of the DTU. Press the SIM card firmly until you hear a clicking sound.
3. Choose an installation location:
   • For optimal signal strength, install on the top floor.
   • Position the DTU near the center of the PV array.
   • Ensure the installation site is at least 0.5 meters above the ground and more than 0.8 meters away from corners.
   • Note: Avoid installing the DTU directly above metal or concrete surfaces to prevent potential signal interference.
4. Choose the installation method:

   Option 1: Mount the DTU on the wall

   Attach the mounting bracket to the wall using at least two screw holes (one on each side). M4 screws are required and must be prepared by the installer. Align the bracket's upper buckle with the DTU-Pro. Gently press the lower side of the DTU-Pro until it clicks into the bracket's lower buckle. Ensure that the antennas are positioned perpendicular to the wall.

   Option 2: Place the DTU on the table

   If placing the DTU on a table, ensure that the antennas are positioned perpendicular to the table surface.

5. Power connection: Plug the power adapter into the DTU to power the unit.
6. Internet Setup:
   • Ethernet Connection: Use a LAN cable to connect the DTU's Ethernet port to your house router.
   • 4G Connection: Ensure the SIM card is inserted and the 4G antenna is connected.

   After connecting to the internet, use the Hoymiles Installer App on your smartphone/tablet. Log in, navigate to the 'O&M' section, select 'Network Config', and then choose either 'Ethernet' or '4G' to configure the connection. If using 4G, the APN is typically preset, but it can be modified within the app under 'O&M > Local Installation Assistant > Cloud > Network Config'.

4. Installation Map

It is important to document the installation details:

1. Complete the installation map by peeling the serial number label from the DTU and affixing it to the designated area on the map.
2. Fill in the system information on the installation map, including details such as Panel Group, Azimuth, Tilt, Customer Information, and the DTU Serial Number. This map serves as a record of the installation configuration.

5. Online Setup

To complete the DTU installation, create an online account on the S-Miles Cloud (Hoymiles Monitoring Platform). Refer to the "Quick Installation Guide for S-Miles Cloud Online Registration" for detailed account creation steps.

6. Warning

⚠️ Warning:

• Only qualified personnel are permitted to install or replace the DTU.
• Do not attempt to repair the DTU yourself, as it contains parts that are not serviceable by users. If the DTU malfunctions, please contact your distributor for maintenance.
• Opening the DTU without authorization will invalidate the product warranty.
