Intended Use
The BLACK+DECKER BXAC40007GB 10000BTU 3 in 1 Air Conditioner is designed for cooling small and medium spaces and is intended for indoor household use only.

After Use
- Do not use a wet cloth or water for cleaning to avoid short circuits or electrical shock.

- Switch off and unplug the unit when not in use or before cleaning.
- Check inlets and outlets regularly for dust.
- Disconnect from the mains outlet when not in use or before relocating or cleaning.

Inspections And Repairs
- Do not attempt to dismantle, repair, or remould any part of the unit. This should only be done by a qualified service agent.

- Install the unit on a flat, hard floor to diminish vibration or noise.
- Always operate the appliance on a smooth, even, stable surface. Do not place on a hot surface.
- Ensure the unit is switched off after use.
- Do not immerse cables, plugs, or any part of the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Operate the unit only at the specified voltage.
- Do not use the unit near open windows, as contact with rain and other natural elements could cause an electrical hazard.
- Do not put heavy objects on the appliance.
- Do not tip the unit on its side.
- Never insert any other object into the unit body to avoid hazards or unit failure.
- Do not place the unit close to heat-generating devices or near flammable materials.
- If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
- The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
- WARNING: Do not place the unit on or near a hot gas electric burner.
Safety relating to refrigerant R290:
- This appliance contains refrigerant R290, which complies with relevant European Directives. Never perforate the refrigerant circuit.
- CAUTION: R290 is flammable (GWP3)!
- DO NOT use any processes to clean the unit or accelerate defrosting, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
- DO NOT store the appliance in a room with other continuously operating ignition sources (e.g., open flames, gas appliances, electric heaters).
- DO NOT pierce or burn any components of the cooling circuit. DO NOT set the unit on fire.
- Take care to store the appliance to prevent mechanical faults or damage.
- DO NOT install, operate, or store the appliance in a room with a floor area of less than 7m².
- Be aware that the refrigerant may be odorless and leaks may not be detectable by smell.
- ALWAYS comply with national gas regulations.
- Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.
- Store the appliance in a well-ventilated area where the room size corresponds to the specified area for operation.
- Any person working on or breaking into a refrigerant circuit must hold a current valid certificate from an industry-accredited assessment authority.
- Servicing should only be performed as recommended by the manufacturer. Maintenance and repair requiring skilled personnel shall be carried out under the supervision of a person competent in the use of flammable refrigerants.
- WARNING: Do not place the unit on or near a hot gas electric burner.
Electrical safety
- Before use, check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
- This product must be earthed. Always check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
- Appliance plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug.
- Do not use adaptor plugs with earthed appliances. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
- To avoid electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.
Extension cables & class 1 product
- A 3-core cable must be used as the tool is earthed and of class 1 construction.
- Up to 30m (100 ft) can be used without loss of power.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized BLACK+DECKER Service Centre to avoid a hazard.
- Warning! Before assembling, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the socket.

Installing the Battery
- WARNING: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
- WARNING: DO NOT INGEST BATTERY; CHEMICAL BURN HAZARD. This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
- Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
- If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- If coin cell battery contents contact skin, wash area with mild soap and water. If liquid gets into the eye, rinse with water for 15 minutes or until irritation ceases. Seek medical attention if needed.
- Do not incinerate or dispose of the tool with household waste. Recycle properly.
To Begin Using Your Air Conditioner
- Start by installing the battery.
- To install the battery, detach the battery cover from the remote by placing a thumb or object on the grooved area on the underside of the cover and pushing it gently to the side while pulling the compartment away from the body.
- Insert 1 x CR2032 battery into the compartment, ensuring the positive polarity faces upwards.
- Slide the battery cover back into place; it will automatically lock.
Assembling Your 3-in-1 Air Conditioner
- WARNING: Before performing assembly or maintenance, switch the unit off and remove it from the power supply.
Installing the Window Hose
Before using the air conditioning unit, install the window hose to release hot air outside. The illustrations show the correct way to attach and install the window hose.
Feed the window hose through the window and attach the threaded adaptor from the outside.
Your air conditioner is now ready for use.
Mounting the Window Hose
Clip the window hose to the back of the air cooling unit. Avoid bends or kinks, as this could cause the pipe to clog, resulting in overheating and potential malfunction.
Turning Your Appliance On or Off
- Press the Power On/Off button on the remote control or control panel to turn the unit on. The LED display will show the unit is on.
- Press the button again to turn the appliance off. The LED display will go out, and air will stop emitting.
Speed Selection
- Press the Speed button on the remote control or control panel to choose between High, Medium, and Low speed settings. The corresponding indicator will light up on the unit.
Temperature Selection
- Press the Up and Down buttons on the remote control or the + and - buttons on the control panel to manually adjust temperature levels (18°C to 32°C).
- Note: The unit's temperature increases or decreases by 1°C increments.
Selecting Functions
- Press the Mode button on the remote control or control panel to cycle through Auto, Cooling, Fan, and Dehumidifying modes.
- Automatic Mode: The unit's default mode. It detects ambient temperature and selects the appropriate function. If the temperature is above 23°C, it starts in cooling mode; if 23°C or below, it starts in ventilation mode. Indicators for Auto and Cooling (or Auto and Fan) will light up. Temperature cannot be manually controlled in this mode.
- Cooling Mode: Blows out cold air to decrease ambient temperature. Press the 'Mode' button until the Cooling indicator lights up.
- Fan Mode: Blows out natural air to cool the ambient temperature. Press the 'Mode' button until the Fan indicator lights up.
- Dehumidifying Mode: Removes moisture from the air. Press the 'Mode' button until the Dehumidifying indicator lights up. Note: Brief vibration as the compressor kicks in is normal.
- Sleep Mode: Press the Sleep button to operate overnight. The unit runs at low speed, and temperature adjusts by 1°C for the first two hours. It then maintains a constant temperature. In cooling mode, temperature increases; in fan mode, it decreases. Press the Sleep button again to turn off this function. The fan will resume previous settings. Note: In sleep mode, the unit automatically turns off after 12 hours of continuous operation.
The Timer Function
This unit has a 24-hour programmable timer.
Setting the Timer
- Press the Timer button on the remote control or control panel to activate the timer. '0' will appear on the LCD display.
- Continuously press the Timer button to select your desired operation time, from 1 to 24 hours.
Pre-Setting the Timer
The timer can be pre-set as a delay timer for the unit to begin operation after a set period.
- To pre-set a delay time, press the Timer button while the unit is plugged in but not operating. '0' will appear on the LCD display.
- Continuously press the Timer button to select your desired delay time, from 1 to 24 hours.
- To cancel a pre-set delay timer, turn the unit on, then press the Power On/Off button to turn it off.
Draining the Unit
When the water tank is full, the compressor and motor will stop, and the 'Water' and 'Comp' indicators will flash. Drain the water tank to ensure correct operation.
To empty the water tank:
- Turn off the unit and avoid moving it.
- Place a container under the drain hole.
- Remove the drain plug and plug cap to allow water to drain.
- When the container is almost full, replace the drain plug and plug cap, and empty the water tray.
- Repeat until the unit is empty.
- Replace the rubber plug and plug cap, tightening firmly.
- Turn the unit back on. The 'Water' and 'Comp' indicators should no longer flash.
- Note: To stop the buzzing sound, press any button on the remote control.
- Note: Wait at least 3 minutes after switching off the unit before turning it back on to prolong compressor life.
Draining Without the Tank
Remove the drain plug and plug cap, insert the drain tube into the water outlet, and connect the other end to a drain. Note: The drain must be at or below the outlet level. The 'Water' indicator will not flash when using this method.
Extending the Drainage Tube
The drainage tube can be extended using a tube of similar diameter (18mm) and an appropriate connector.
Self-Diagnosis
The unit has a self-diagnose feature that warns of errors or malfunctions. Errors are displayed as E1, E2, E3, or E5. Contact customer support if a malfunction occurs.
Cleaning and maintenance
- WARNING: Before cleaning, switch off and unplug the appliance to prevent electric shock.
- Always unplug the unit from the mains before cleaning.
- Clean the unit regularly for optimal performance.
Cleaning the Housing
- Wipe the unit's housing with a soft, damp cloth.
- Never use aggressive chemicals, gasoline, detergents, chemically treated cloths, or other cleaning solutions, as this may damage components.
Cleaning the Filter
- Tap the filter lightly or use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose dust and dirt.
- Rinse the filter thoroughly under running water (max 40°C).
- Dry the filter thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Note: NEVER operate the unit without the filters.
Before storing the unit:
- Drain any water inside the tank.
- Operate the unit in ventilation mode for a few hours to dry the interior.
- Clean or change the filter.
- Unplug and store the power cord.
- Place the unit back into its original box.
- Store the unit safely.
Mains plug replacement
- WARNING: This section is for authorized service centre personnel only.
- If a new mains plug needs fitting:
- Safely dispose of the old plug.
- Connect the brown lead to the live terminal.
- Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
- If the product is class I (earthed), connect the green/yellow lead to the earth terminal.
- Note: If your product is class II (double insulated), no connection is to be made to the earth terminal.
- Follow fitting instructions supplied with good quality plugs. Use a replacement fuse of the same rating as the original.
