Important Safety Instructions
DANGER: Immediate hazards which WILL result in severe personal injury or death.
WARNING: Hazards or unsafe practices which COULD result in severe personal injury or death.
CAUTION: Hazards or unsafe practices which COULD result in minor personal injury.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed:
- Read this guide before using the appliance to reduce the risk of injury.
- Connect the air conditioner to a proper electrical outlet with the correct electrical supply.
- Ensure proper grounding to reduce the risk of shock and fire. DO NOT CUT OR REMOVE THE GROUNDING PRONG. Have a certified electrician install a proper receptacle if one is not present. The wall receptacle MUST be properly grounded.
- Do not operate if the power cord is frayed or damaged. Avoid using if there are cracks, abrasion damage, or if the unit malfunctions or is damaged. Contact an authorized service technician for examination, repairs, or adjustments.
- DO NOT USE AN ADAPTER OR AN EXTENSION CORD.
- Do not block airflow around the air conditioner. Ensure the exhaust hose is free of obstructions.
- Always unplug the air conditioner before servicing or moving it.
- Do not install or use the air conditioner in areas with combustible gases or oily/sulphurous atmospheres. Avoid contact with chemicals.
- Do not place any object on top of the unit.
- Never operate the air conditioner without filters in place.
- Do not use the air conditioner near a bathtub, shower, or wash basin.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use by a responsible person.
- Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- If the SUPPLY CORD is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
- Install the air conditioner in accordance with national wiring regulations.
Handling Alkaline Batteries
WARNING: When handling alkaline batteries, basic safety precautions should be followed:
- If battery fluid gets into eyes, do not rub. Rinse immediately with clean tap water and consult a physician.
- Do not put batteries in fire, expose to heat, dismantle, or modify. Damaged insulation or safety valves can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Do not insert batteries with reversed poles. This can cause abnormality, short circuits, leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
- If alkali fluid gets in mouth, rinse with water and contact a physician immediately.
- If alkali fluid gets on skin or clothes, it may cause burns. Rinse affected area thoroughly with tap water.
- Do not mix new and old batteries, or batteries of different makes. Different attributes can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- These batteries are not rechargeable. Recharging may damage internal structure and cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Do not damage or remove battery labels. This can cause short circuits, leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Do not drop, throw, or expose batteries to extreme impact. This can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Do not alter battery shape. Damaged insulation or safety valves can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Remove batteries immediately when they lose power. Leaving them in the unit for extended periods can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion due to gas generation.
- Remove batteries when the unit will not be used for an extended period.
- Do not apply solder directly to batteries. Heat can cause leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- Do not get batteries wet. This can cause overheating.
- Store batteries out of direct sunlight in a cool, dry place. Failure to do so may cause leakage, overheating, explosion, or reduced battery life.
- Follow local government regulations for battery disposal.
- NEVER mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries with this product.
Grounding Instructions
Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock in case of malfunction or breakdown. The appliance must be connected to a cord with an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug, inserted into a properly installed and grounded outlet in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. The equipment grounding conductor is identified by insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes. If the cord or plug needs repair or replacement, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if grounding instructions are unclear or if in doubt. Do not modify the plug; have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician if it does not fit.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120V circuit and should be connected to a grounding outlet that looks like the one illustrated. The use of a temporary adapter is not recommended.

LCDI Power Cord and Plug
This air conditioner is equipped with an LCDI (Leakage Current Detection and Interruption) power cord, required by UL. This cord contains electronics that sense leakage current. If the cord is damaged and leakage occurs, power will be disconnected from the unit.
WARNING: Test LCDI before each use.
To test the plug:
- Plug the power cord into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
- Press RESET (a green light may turn on).
- Press the TEST button. The circuit should trip, cutting power to the air conditioner (a green light may turn off).
- Press the RESET button for use.
- The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to trip when TEST is pressed or if it cannot be reset.
NOTES:
- Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off.
- Always ensure the reset button is pushed in for correct operation.
WARNING:
- The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when the TEST button is pushed, or if it cannot be reset.
- If the power supply cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired. It must be replaced by one obtained from the product manufacturer.
WARNING – RISK OF FIRE: It is important that the plug fits tightly into the wall outlet. If the plug is loose, it should not be used. Have a licensed electrician replace the receptacle.
