Common Problems and Solutions

P: When I press the menu button, why doesn't the system menu appear?
R: First, press the OK button to stop recording.
P: I've stopped recording, but I still can't access the menu.
R: Please turn off motion detection. Otherwise, it will continue recording when it detects any movement, preventing you from accessing the menu.
P: I have configured recording, but it only records randomly for 10 seconds with long intervals, then stops and restarts recording.
R: We suggest not activating motion detection functions while driving, as this function can cause intermittent recording.
P: The SD card is full and not overwriting?
R: Please check if all video files are locked and cannot be overwritten. Format the micro SD card and adjust the G-Sensor sensitivity.
P: The mount cannot be fixed properly on the windshield?
R:
  1. Please clean the windshield where the mount is attached with a glass cleaning wipe. Remove the protective film. If it still doesn't work, warm the windshield and try again.
  2. Please soak the suction mount in hot water for a moment.
  3. If it still doesn't work, Toguard can send you a new suction mount. Please contact Toguard for a replacement.
P: Even though the screen saver is configured, the screen keeps turning on.
R: The power supply might be unstable. Please try another car charger.
P: Why does the dash camera drain the car battery?
R: Please check if the cigarette lighter is still functioning after turning off the car engine.
P: The dash camera stops automatically during recording.
R:
  1. Check if the memory is full.
  2. Check if the recording function is enabled.
  3. Check if the Micro SD card is high-speed, above C10.
  4. Review the memory card; there might be too many locked videos preventing proper recording.
  5. Check the car charger connection status. If the connection is loose, the power supply is unstable, and the camera will turn off automatically.
P: The camera keeps turning on and off.
R: This might be the parking monitor function activating. Check the settings menu.
P: If the video played on the computer is not smooth or is stuck.
R:
  1. Try playing the video with different video players, such as Potplayer or VLCplayer.
  2. Format your Micro SD card in the camera.
  3. Perform a speed test on the memory card to ensure it meets the requirement: the write speed should be above 10MB/S.
P: There are interference stripes in the image.
R: The light frequency might be incorrect. According to local regulations, choose the appropriate frequency settings: 50HZ or 60HZ.
P: Without an external power source, the camera only lasts a very short time or simply cannot turn on.
R: The built-in battery has a low capacity for safety reasons, and it is used only to save the video and the parking monitor. It is not designed to operate without an external power source.
