Before You Play
Step 1: Selecting the Power Source
The Aerophone mini can be powered by batteries or a USB AC adaptor.
When using batteries
Provides approximately 10 hours of playing time. Insert four Ni-MH (AA) batteries. Set the power select switch to "BATTERY." Be careful when handling the unit, especially when turning it over. Battery life varies. Low batteries are indicated by a blinking orange power LED. Improper battery handling can lead to leakage.
When using USB AC adaptor
Allows continuous play without battery concerns. Connect a USB cable (included) and a USB AC adaptor (sold separately) to the USB port. The unit does not charge installed batteries. Use the cord hook to secure the USB cable.
Set the power select switch to "USB." Use only the included USB cable. Handle USB cables with care to avoid malfunctions or electrical shock.
Step 2: Turning the Aerophone mini On
Set the [L] switch to "ON." For Bluetooth functionality, set it to the "?" position. The mouthpiece sensitivity adjusts automatically upon power-on (approx. 7 seconds). Avoid touching the mouthpiece during startup. The power LED indicates power status. The unit has an Auto Off function which can be disabled via the app.
Step 3: Wrapping the Band
To prevent saliva from entering the instrument, wrap the included band around it as shown in the illustration.
Step 4: Changing the Sound Settings
Hold down the [FUNCTION] button and press a performance key the required number of times to select a setting (Tone, Volume, Breath, Transpose, Reverb). The setting value increases with each press, indicated by beeps. Alternatively, hold [FUNCTION] and use [UP]/[DOWN] buttons. The performance keys correspond to:
- 1: [TONE]
- 2: [VOLUME]
- 3: [BREATH]
- 4: [TRANSPOSE]
- 5: [REVERB]
- 6: [UP]
- 7: [DOWN]
- [FUNCTION] button
Tone List
Value | Tone Name |
---|---|
1 | SAX |
2 | FLUTE |
3 | CLARINET |
4 | TRUMPET |
5 | VIOLIN |
6 | SAW LEAD (Synthesizer sounds) |
Volume
Adjusts the volume for built-in speakers and headphone/output jack. Values 1-5 represent volume levels.
Breath
Specifies how sound responds to breath force. Settings range from Light2 (for beginners) to Heavy2 (for experienced players).
Reverberation
Adjusts the depth of reverberation. Values 1-5 control depth, with 1 being no reverberation.
Selecting the key ([TRANSPOSE])
Transpose in semitone steps. For example, set to "+3" (E♭) for alto sax music. Pressing [UP] and [DOWN] simultaneously resets the transpose to "C." The unit provides audible feedback (beeps) for transpose settings.
Step 5: Provide As Necessary
Connecting Your Headphones or External Speakers
Connect headphones or external speakers to the PHONES/OUTPUT jack. Turn down volume and power off units before connecting to prevent malfunction. This is useful for night-time practice (headphones) or live performance (external speakers).
Returning to the Factory Settings (Factory Reset)
To reset to factory settings: 1. Hold [UP] and [DOWN] buttons, turn the [L] switch "ON." 2. Press the [FUNCTION] button. 3. Turn the power off and then on again.
