Pioneer VSX-LX505 Firmware Update

This document details the firmware updates for the Pioneer VSX-LX505 AV Receiver, aimed at enhancing performance and adding new features. Updates can be installed via USB or Network connection.

07/01/2025 Update
- Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

03/12/2025 Update
- Fixed an issue where no sound was produced when playing music via Bluetooth from an iPhone.
- Resolved a problem with the PC version of Dirac Live that caused channel names and filters to not be shown or applied correctly during measurement.
- Improved stability and fixed minor bugs.

- Improved mic curve characteristics of Dirac Live for calibration. Recalibration is recommended after this update if already calibrated.
- Fixed an issue with center speaker sound absence for input signals/devices like Apple TV 4K when dialog enhancement was changed to +1 or more from 0 during Auto Surround/Straight Decode mode, if the center speaker setting was available.

- Virtual Remote, Limit Mode, and HDMI diagnostic functions added to the Web Setup Menu.
- Fixed the problem where the audio format of TIDAL playback became AAC.
- Fixed the problem of color corruption in Dolby Vision games on Xbox.
- Fixed a problem where the image would not be displayed when VRR was turned on for Xbox.
- Fixed the problem where High Bit Rate Audio such as Dolby TrueHD would not be output when 4K or 8K resolution signals were input.
- Fixed the problem where audio would not be output from the TV speakers when playing High Bit Rate Audio signals such as Dolby TrueHD in TV audio output mode.
- Fixed a problem with the HDMI diagnostic function Source Test.
Firmware Update Instructions
Update the firmware via network or USB connection.
Updating the firmware via network: You can update the firmware by connecting the unit to a network.
Updating the firmware via USB connection: You need a 128 MB or larger capacity USB storage for updating.
