Introduction
This manual contains all important information for the proper installation, safe operation, and optimal maintenance of the knife rack. Please read the manual carefully and keep it for future reference. The product must only be used as described in the intended applications outlined here.
Please note: The magnetic force is determined based on a 10 mm thick steel plate and a vertical pull. Please be aware that the holding force of these mounting magnets is significantly reduced with horizontal pull along the surface or when attached to very thin, painted, or uneven metal surfaces. In such applications, the maximum specified load capacity may not be achieved.
Warning and Safety Instructions
1. General Safety Instructions
- NOTICE! Check the product for damage or material defects before use. Do not use the product if any damage or defects are detected.
- NOTICE! Do not use the product if cracks, deformations, or adhesion issues occur.
- NOTICE! The knife rack is designed exclusively for the magnetic storage of knives and kitchen utensils with magnetic properties.
- NOTICE! Do not use the product for non-magnetic objects or for securing heavy loads.
2. Installation and Mounting Instructions
CAUTION! Choose a suitable, load-bearing mounting surface. Drywall or soft materials are unsuitable without additional reinforcement.
CAUTION! For permanent mounting, use the supplied screws and wall plugs.
Self-adhesive installation:
- Installation should take place in a room with a temperature between 10 °C and 40 °C.
- Low temperatures can harden the adhesive and reduce adhesion strength.
- High temperatures can accelerate curing and impair adhesion.
- Thoroughly clean the mounting surface to remove dust, grease, and impurities.
- Ideal surfaces are smooth, stable, and non-porous (e.g., tiles, smooth concrete, or natural stone walls).
- Avoid uneven, textured, or porous surfaces, as they can significantly reduce adhesion.
- The adhesive achieves its full holding strength only on a dry and grease-free surface.
- High humidity, condensation, or direct steam exposure (e.g., near cooktops, range hoods, or humid kitchen areas) can negatively affect adhesion.
- Choose a mounting location that is not constantly exposed to moisture or steam.
- Full adhesion strength is reached after 24 hours – avoid applying load during this period.
- Prematurely placing weight on the knife rack can significantly reduce adhesion and cause detachment.
- Removing the rack may leave residue or damage the surface.
3. Usage and Load Capacity Guidelines
CAUTION! Place knives with the blade facing upwards or sideways to prevent accidental slipping.
CAUTION! Regularly check the adhesion strength to ensure the knives are securely held.
CAUTION! Keep the product out of reach of children to prevent injuries or damage.
- NOTICE! Magnetic strength may vary depending on the material, weight, and position of the knife.
- NOTICE! Heavy or very smooth knives may become loose and fall.
- NOTICE! Do not exceed the specified load capacity to prevent unintended detachment or falling knives.
4. Temperature and Environmental Conditions
NOTICE! Use the product only in dry indoor environments.
CAUTION! Maximum temperature: Magnetic strength may decrease at temperatures above 80 °C. Do not use near heat sources.
CAUTION! Do not use near heat sources, moisture, or steam, as this may affect adhesion.
5. Safety Instructions Regarding Magnetic Fields
CAUTION! Magnetic fields:
- Implanted devices: Strong magnetic fields can interfere with pacemakers or implanted defibrillators. If you use such devices, maintain a sufficient safety distance.
- Sensitive devices: Keep magnets away from devices that can be damaged by magnetic fields, such as TVs, PCs, laptops, hard drives, credit cards, data storage devices, mechanical watches, hearing aids, and speakers.
NOTICE! Demagnetization: Ferrite magnets can be demagnetized by stronger neodymium magnets. Keep ferrite magnets at least 5 cm away from neodymium magnets.
CAUTION! Risk of injury from fragments: Ferrite magnets can shatter or break upon strong impacts, blows, or collisions.
CAUTION! Fragment hazard: Ferrite magnets can be damaged by improper handling or impacts. Avoid striking the magnetic rack and ensure secure wall mounting.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
NOTICE! Cleaning and maintenance guidelines:
- Clean the knife rack with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Regularly check the stability of the mounting and the adhesion strength of the magnets.
7. Disposal Instructions
NOTICE! Environmentally friendly disposal:
- Dispose of the product according to local regulations for metal and plastic products.
- If possible, recycle the magnetic strip separately from the stainless steel rack.

Installation Instructions
A. Preparation (for both mounting methods)
-
Separation:
Carefully and vertically separate the backplate (A) from the knife bar (B). Remove the protective film (Polystrip) from both parts.
-
Temperature Notice:
Avoid use in environments where the temperature is consistently near or above 80 °C.
B. Screw Mounting
-
Positioning:
Place the backplate in the desired position on the wall. Ensure that the pre-drilled holes face outward. Mark the hole positions with a pencil.
CAUTION: This magnet is very strong and can cause severe pinching injuries! Make sure not to place your fingers between the magnetic strip and the backplate when mounting.
-
Drilling and Fixing:
Drill pilot holes at the marked positions and insert plastic wall plugs into the holes. Secure the backplate to the wall using the supplied screws. (Use a drill bit with a diameter of 4 mm or 0.158 inches.)
-
Attaching the Knife Rack:
Carefully hold the front of the magnetic knife bar using only your fingertips. Ensure that your fingers are not caught between the knife bar and the backplate to avoid serious pinching injuries! Align the knife bar with the backplate and attach it securely.
C. Self-Adhesive Mounting
-
Preparation:
Installation should take place in a room with a temperature between 10 °C and 40 °C.
Thoroughly clean the mounting surface—remove dust, grease, and any other contaminants. Ideal surfaces are smooth, stable, and non-porous. Avoid uneven, porous, or heavily textured surfaces.
-
Applying the Adhesive Surface:
Remove the protective film from the adhesive layer on the back of the knife rack.
-
Positioning:
Press the knife rack firmly against the prepared surface, ensuring precise alignment.
CAUTION: This magnet is very strong and can cause severe pinching injuries! Make sure not to place your fingers between the magnetic strip and the backplate when mounting.
-
Curing Time:
Allow the adhesive to fully cure for at least 24 hours before using the rack.
-
Placement Notice:
Choose a location that is not exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources (e.g., stove, oven) to ensure long-lasting adhesive strength.
High humidity, condensation, or direct steam exposure (e.g., near cooktops, range hoods, or humid kitchen areas) can negatively affect adhesion.
Operation
- Intended Use: Use the knife rack exclusively for storing clean, dry knives and other magnetic kitchen utensils.
- Usage: Regularly check whether the mounting (whether using screws or adhesive) is secure and stable.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Clean the knife rack regularly with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents.
- Inspection: Periodically check the mounting (magnetic adhesion, screws, or adhesive points) and the condition of the surface.
- Temperature: Avoid using the product in environments with consistently high temperatures to prevent impairment of the magnetic effect and adhesive strength.
Troubleshooting
Problem: The knife rack does not hold securely.
- Check that all screws and wall plugs are properly tightened if using screw mounting.
- If using self-adhesive mounting: Ensure that the mounting surface is clean and even, and that the adhesive layer is fully adhered.
- Note that the specified magnetic force may not be fully achieved in cases of horizontal pull or on uneven surfaces.
Problem: Visible detachment or deformations due to heat.
- Ensure that the product is not installed near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
