Filling the Salt Reservoir

The use of salt prevents the formation of limescale on dishes and machine components. The salt reservoir is located under the lower rack on the left side. It is mandatory that the salt reservoir never be empty, and it is important to set the water hardness correctly. Refill the salt when the SALT REFILL indicator light is lit.

  1. Remove the lower rack and unscrew the reservoir cap (anticlockwise).
  2. Position the funnel and fill the salt reservoir to the brim (approx. 0.5 kg). Some water leakage is normal.
  3. Only the first time: fill the salt reservoir with water.
  4. Remove the funnel and wipe any salt residue away from the opening. Ensure the cap is screwed on tightly to prevent detergent from entering the container, which could damage the water softener.

Run a program immediately after refilling the salt reservoir to avoid corrosion.

Setting the Water Hardness

To ensure the water softener works effectively, set the water hardness based on your local water supply information. The factory setting is "3".

Level°dH (German degrees)°fH (French degrees)°Clark (English degrees)
1 (Soft)0-60-100-7
2 (Medium)7-1111-208-14
3 (Average)12-1621-2915-20
4 (Hard)17-3430-6021-42
5 (Very hard)35-5061-9043-62

To change the setting, follow instructions in the "SETTING MENU" section. Use only dishwasher-specific salt. After refilling, the SALT REFILL indicator light switches off. Failure to use salt can damage the water softener and heating element due to limescale accumulation. Salt usage is recommended with any type of dishwasher detergent.

Water Softening System

The water softener automatically reduces water hardness, preventing scale buildup and improving cleaning efficiency. It regenerates using salt. The frequency of regeneration depends on the water hardness setting (e.g., once per 4-6 Eco cycles for setting 3). Regeneration occurs at the start of a cycle with additional fresh water. Single regeneration consumes approximately 3L of water, adds up to 5 minutes to the cycle, and uses less than 0.005 kWh of energy.

Filling the Rinse Aid Dispenser

Rinse aid aids in dish drying. Fill the rinse aid dispenser (A) when the RINSE AID REFILL indicator light is lit.

  1. Open dispenser (B) by pressing and pulling the tab on the lid.
  2. Pour in rinse aid (max. 110 ml), avoiding overflow. Clean spills immediately with a dry cloth.
  3. Press the lid down until it clicks shut.

Never pour rinse aid directly into the appliance tub.

Daily Use

  1. Check Water Connection: Ensure the dishwasher is connected to the water supply and the tap is open.
  2. Switch On the Dishwasher: Open the door and press the ON/OFF button.
  3. Load the Racks: Refer to the "LOADING THE RACKS" section.
  4. Fill the Detergent Dispenser: Refer to the "FILLING THE DETERGENT DISPENSER" section.
  5. Choose Program and Customize Cycle: Select the most appropriate program based on crockery type and soiling level. Select desired options; not all options are compatible with all programs.
  6. Start: Press the START/Pause button (indicator light will be lit) and close the door within 4 seconds. A beep confirms the program start. If the door is not closed within 4 seconds, an alarm sounds; open the door, press START/Pause, and close the door again within 4 seconds.
  7. End of Wash Cycle: Indicated by beeps and flashing program number. Open the door, switch off the appliance using the ON/OFF button. Wait a few minutes before unloading to avoid burns. Unload starting with the lower rack.

Modifying a Running Program

If a program was selected incorrectly and has only just begun, you can change it. Reset the machine by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for over 3 seconds. The machine will switch off, showing "0:01". Switch it back on, select the new cycle and options, then press START/Pause and close the door within 4 seconds.

Adding Extra Crockery

Without switching off the machine, open the door slightly to avoid splashing (START/Pause LED blinks). Add crockery. Press START/Pause and close the door within 4 seconds to resume the cycle.

Accidental Interruptions

If the door is opened during a wash cycle or if there is a power cut, the cycle stops. Pressing START/Pause and closing the door within 4 seconds will resume the cycle.

Advice and Tips

Tips

Unsuitable Crockery

Colors of glass decorations and aluminum/silver pieces may change or fade. Some glass types (e.g., crystal) can become opaque after multiple wash cycles.

Damage to Glass and Crockery

Tips on Energy Saving

Hygiene

To avoid odors and sediment, run a high-temperature program at least once a month. Use a teaspoon of detergent and run the appliance empty.

Resistance to Frost

If the appliance is in an environment exposed to frost risk, drain it completely. Turn off the water tap, remove hoses, and let all water drain. Ensure the water softener is full of dissolved regeneration salt to protect the appliance from temperatures down to -20°C. If stored in frost conditions, the appliance must remain at a minimum ambient temperature of 5°C for at least 24 hours before the first run.

Loading the Racks

Capacity: 15 standard place-settings

Cutlery Rack

Designed for cutlery. Arrange cutlery separately for easier collection and improved washing/drying. Knives and sharp utensils should have blades facing downwards. The rack has sliding side trays for loading taller items into the upper rack.

Upper Rack

Load delicate and light items: glasses, cups, saucers, low salad bowls. Tip-up supports can be used vertically for saucers or lowered for bowls and food containers.

Adjusting the height of the upper rack

The height can be adjusted: high position for bulky crockery in the lower basket, or low position for more space upwards, avoiding collision with lower rack items. To adjust, lift the rack sides (without pressing levers) until stable in the upper position. To lower, press levers (A) at the sides and move the basket down. Do not adjust height when loaded. Never raise or lower the basket on one side only.

Foldable flaps with adjustable position

Side foldable flaps optimize crockery arrangement. Wine glasses can be placed safely by inserting their stems into the slots. To unfold, slide up and rotate or release snaps and pull down. To fold, rotate and slide down or pull up and attach to snaps.

Lower Rack

For pots, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery, etc. Large plates and lids should be placed at the sides to avoid interfering with the spray arm. Tip-up supports can be used vertically for plates or horizontally for pans and salad bowls.

POWER CLEAN®

Uses special water jets in the rear cavity for intensive washing of heavily soiled items. The lower rack has a Space Zone, a pull-out support for frying pans or baking pans, allowing them to stand upright and save space. Place pots/casseroles facing the Power Clean® component and activate the POWER CLEAN® option. To use: 1. Fold down rear plate holders to load pots in the Power Clean® area. 2. Load pots and casseroles inclined vertically towards the powerful water jets.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Filter Assembly

Regularly clean the filter assembly to prevent clogging and ensure proper water flow. Clogged filters or foreign objects in the system or spray arms can cause malfunction, noise, or increased resource usage. The assembly has three filters. The dishwasher must not be used without filters or if a filter is loose.

Clean the filter assembly thoroughly under running water at least once per month or every 30 cycles, using a non-metallic brush:

  1. Turn cylindrical filter (A) anticlockwise and pull out. Ensure the two triangles meet upon reinstallation.
  2. Remove cup filter (B) by pressing side flaps.
  3. Slide out stainless-steel plate filter (C).
  4. Carefully remove any foreign objects (broken glass, porcelain, bones, fruit seeds, etc.).
  5. Inspect and remove food residues from the trap. NEVER REMOVE the wash-cycle pump protection (indicated by an arrow).

Replace the filter assembly correctly after cleaning for efficient operation.

Cleaning the Spray Arms

Food residue can encrust spray arms and block holes. Check arms periodically and clean with a small non-metallic brush.
