Radionics D2212 Security System User Guide
This guide provides instructions for operating and maintaining your Radionics security system.
Introduction
Your security system protects against fire, theft, and bodily harm using a keypad, sensors, and a central control unit.
Security System Basics
Points
A "point" is a detection device (e.g., door sensor). Points can be "faulted" (not normal, like an open door) or normal. Types include Controlled Points (armed/disarmed), 24-Hour Points (always active), Fire Points, and Non-Fire 24-Hour Points.
Keypad Functions
The keypad controls the system. It uses numeric keys, CLEAR, and function keys. Different tones alert users to system events like alarms, troubles, and key presses.
- Alarm Tones: Fire, Burglary.
- Status Tones: Trouble, Keypress, Entry/Exit Delay, Error, OK.
- Watch Tone: Alerts for specific "watched" points.
System Operation
Arming/Disarming
Turn the system Off by entering your passcode. Arm the system "All On" (all points) or "Part On" (selected points), often with exit delays. "No Delay" options are available for instant arming.
Bypassing Points
Exclude faulted points from arming to allow system activation. Faulted points are indicated on the display.
System Status
Check status via the CLEAR key. Messages like "SYSTEM OK," "NOT READY," or "ALARM MEMORY" provide system condition information.
Silencing Alarms
Enter your passcode to silence alarms. The system may report to a central station.
Advanced Features
- Viewing Faulted Points: Identify and correct faulted points.
- Viewing Alarm Memory: Review past alarm events.
- Resetting the System: Clear alarms and reset system components.
- Watch Tones/Points: Configure alerts for specific monitored points.
- System Troubles: Identify and resolve system issues (e.g., low battery, phone line).
- Passcodes: Change passcodes, manage types (Owner, User, One-Time), and set up temporary access.
- Step Outside/Exit Only: Features for temporary door bypass or secure exit/re-entry.
- System Test: Verify bell, battery, and phone line functionality.
System Limitations & Safety
Security systems have limitations; they are not a substitute for insurance. Proper maintenance and testing are vital. In case of fire, follow evacuation plans and minimize hazards.
System Displays & Maintenance
Keypad displays provide status and instructions. Clean the keypad with a slightly damp cloth. Contact service for power failures or complex issues.
