BRISSUND 3-Seat Sofa-Bed Assembly Instructions

This document provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the IKEA BRISSUND 3-seat sofa-bed.

Before You Begin

Two people are recommended for assembly. Ensure you have all parts before starting. Avoid assembling on rough surfaces that could damage the product.

Important: Follow the instructions carefully. Do not skip steps. Ensure all connections are secure.

6x Legs (Part No. 191109)
4x Screws (Part No. 10086780)
2x Screws (Part No. 10073108)
4x Screws (Part No. 114509)
4x Wing nuts (Part No. 158457)
2x Washers (Part No. 100837)
1x Allen key (Part No. 134170)
2x Protective pads (Part No. 109142)

Assembly Steps

Step 1: Attach Legs

Screw the 6 legs (191109) into the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the sofa base.

Step 2: Secure Protective Pads

Place the 2 protective pads (109142) onto the bottom of each leg. Ensure they are firmly attached.

Step 3: Position Sofa Base

With assistance, carefully flip the sofa base upright onto its legs.

Step 4: Attach Side Supports

Attach the side support brackets using the screws (10086780) and the Allen key (134170). Ensure the brackets are oriented correctly as shown in the diagram.

Step 5: Attach Hinges

Attach the hinges to the sofa frame using the screws (10086780) and the Allen key (134170). Ensure correct alignment.

Step 6: Secure Backrest Supports

Attach the backrest support brackets using the screws (114509). Ensure the brackets are flush with the frame.

Step 7: Extend Sofa Bed Mechanism

Carefully pull out the lower section of the sofa to extend the bed mechanism. Ensure it slides smoothly.

Step 8: Secure Extended Frame

Use the wing nuts (158457) to secure the extended frame in place. Ensure they are tightened firmly.

Step 9: Attach Armrests/Backrest

Align the armrests/backrest with the corresponding slots on the sofa frame. Secure them using the screws (10073108) and washers (100837).

Step 10: Fold Sofa Bed

Carefully fold the extended sofa bed mechanism back into the sofa.

Step 11: Place Cushions

Insert the seat and back cushions into their respective covers. Ensure the zippers are closed securely.

Step 12: Final Placement

Place the assembled cushions onto the sofa.

Step 13: Sofa Bed Functionality Check

Test the sofa bed mechanism by extending and retracting it to ensure it operates smoothly.

Care Instructions

Refer to the care label on the fabric for specific cleaning instructions. Avoid ironing directly on the fabric; use a protective cloth.
