Brand: KEYENCE
Product Type: Industrial Code Reader
The KEYENCE SR-1000 Series represents a significant advancement in code reading technology, offering unparalleled performance and ease of use. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of industrial automation, this autofocus 1D and 2D code reader simplifies complex tasks and enhances operational efficiency.
Image: The KEYENCE SR-1000 Series code reader emitting a red light beam, with various barcode examples shown below.
"Selecting the right reader and lens combination for the distance is frustrating." "The system has to be designed to fit the specifications of the reader."
"Reading was successful during setup but there are many errors during actual operation." "Setup requires a whole day."
"Do we need to mount the reader at a certain angle? What is the best angle?" "Is external lighting required? What kind?"
Diagram illustrating three common challenges for code readers: mounting distance, unknown settings, and reading failures due to glare.
The SR-1000 Series simplifies code reading with three core automatic functions:
The reader can be mounted at any distance and maintain a clear image, with a maximum range of 1000 mm. This capability allows for flexible mounting and eliminates the need for precise distance adjustments.
Automatically determines optimal settings for exposure time, image processing filters, and other parameters, considering approximately 750,000 combinations to achieve the best reading performance.
Glare is automatically eliminated, removing the need for manual adjustment of the reader's angle or the use of external lighting. This ensures stable reading even on reflective surfaces.
Setting Complete.
World's First Automatic Polarization Control: The reader features both polarized and direct light sources. Automatic polarizing filter selection eliminates glare and allows for flexible mounting.
Comparison images showing code readability on different surfaces (e.g., black resin cylinder, metal hairline) with and without a polarizing filter, demonstrating glare reduction and improved readability.
Mounting is less restricted by reader performance or specifications, improving flexibility in machine designs for production lines and jigs. The autofocus capability allows a single reader to detect codes on targets of varying heights, secure robot movement ranges, and read extremely small codes.
Diagram illustrating the SR-1000's ability to detect targets with differing heights, secure robot movement range, and read extremely small codes.
Field of View 4x Larger: Comparison of conventional field of view versus the SR-1000 Series' wider field of view.
Diagrams illustrating the SR-1000's capability to read small codes (0.063 mm) at a distance of 110 mm, and its wider range (290 mm x 220 mm) and longer distance capability (1000 mm).
The code reader automatically optimizes exposure time, image processing filters, and other parameters based on the target and mounting distance for clear image capture.
Visual examples of code correction for various issues like dark codes, low contrast, thin printing, distortion, and stray dots.
2D Code Search in Captured Images: Binary processing enables immediate detection of 2D codes even if there are code-like patterns in the field of view.
Defective Code Positioning Program: Identifies the four corners of a 2D code using a similar detection pattern, significantly improving code detection performance.
Diagram illustrating 2D code search and the defective code positioning program's ability to identify code corners.
Contrast Algorithm for Local Concentration (CALC): Divides codes into smaller pieces for binary processing, enabling accurate classification even with uneven print density.
Comparison of conventional technique versus CALC technique for code decoding, showing how CALC divides the code into segments for processing.
Fluctuations in code conditions are predicted during tuning, and expanded reading settings are automatically generated. This ensures stable reading even when code contrast changes, eliminating the need to reconfigure the reader. The reader predicts 43 patterns of change in printing conditions.
Diagram showing four patterns of code conditions: Thicker, Thinner, Darker, Lighter, illustrating how the reader adapts.
The SR-1000 can make judgments on code quality, detecting degradation before reading errors occur, enabling predictive maintenance of the printing process.
Matching Level Judgment Function: Differentiates between codes with identical reading rates based on a matching level score.
Code Verification Function: Verification based on code quality standards, supporting standards like ISO/IEC 15415 and SAE AS9132.
Diagram illustrating how the matching level differentiates between two codes with identical reading rates (e.g., Matching Level 75 vs. 43).
The AUTODID NETWORK NAVIGATOR SR-H4W software provides easy code reader setup and reduces man-hours for preliminary tests. It supports connection via USB for the SR-1000 Series.
Key Software Functions:
Advanced Settings include: Image Capture Range, Polarization Filter, Target Bank, Tuning History, and Number of Codes for Reading.
Tuning Monitor: Displays optimum settings determined from image processing filters and brightness levels.
