Product Overview
The Braun BC15-DCF is a radio-controlled projection clock designed to provide accurate time display and projection capabilities. It features an alarm function, snooze, and adjustable backlight brightness.
Getting Started
Powering the Clock:
- Battery Operation: Insert 3x AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery compartment.
- Adapter Operation: Plug the supplied adapter into the DC jack at the back of the clock.
Upon initial power-up, press the 'reset' key to reset the clock. The display will turn on, and after 6 seconds, the clock will automatically scan for the radio-controlled time signal.
Radio Controlled Operation (DCF Version)
This clock automatically sets and controls the time using the DCF radio signal broadcast from Frankfurt, Germany. This signal covers Germany and extends up to 1500km, reaching most of Central and Western Europe.
Function Keys and Controls
- TIME SETTING / NEUTRAL / ALARM SETTING Switch: Use to set the clock time, alarm time, or return to normal display.
- '+' Key: Increases setting values or switches between 12/24 hour format when in NEUTRAL mode.
- '-' Key: Decreases setting values or switches between temperature units (°C/°F) when in NEUTRAL mode.
- ALARM ON/OFF Slider: Enables or disables the alarm.
- SNOOZE/LIGHT Touch Button: Activates the backlight for 10 seconds or stops the alarm and activates the snooze function.
- RESET Key: Resets all values to default in case of malfunction.
- RCC Key: Tests radio reception or disables automatic RC function (hold for >3 seconds).
- PROJECTION Key: Rotates the projected image in 90-degree increments.
- BRIGHTNESS Key: Cycles through four backlight brightness levels.

- B: Low battery indicator

- D: DST (Daylight Saving Time)

Setting the Time
- Slide the switch to the TIME SETTING position.
- Use the '+' or '-' keys to adjust the hour and minute.
- Slide the switch to the NEUTRAL position to save settings.
Setting the Alarm
- Slide the switch to the ALARM SETTING position.
- Use the '+' or '-' keys to adjust the alarm hour and minute.
- Slide the switch to the NEUTRAL position to save settings.
Using the Alarm and Snooze Function
- Activate the alarm using the ALARM ON/OFF slider. The alarm icon will appear on the display.
- Tap the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to silence the alarm and activate snooze. The alarm icon will flash.
- To deactivate, slide the ALARM ON/OFF slider down.
Note: The snooze function will reactivate the alarm after 5 minutes unless the ALARM ON/OFF slider is moved to the OFF position.
Choosing Backlight Brightness
Press the 'brightness' button to select from four levels. If using the DC adapter, the backlight can remain on permanently. Without the adapter, it turns off automatically after 10 seconds.
Using the Projection Function
- With batteries, the projection is ON for 10 seconds after pressing SNOOZE/LIGHT.
- With the DC adapter, continuous projection can be enabled by pressing and holding the Projection button for 3 seconds to disable it, and pressing again to re-enable it.
- The projection arm can be tilted 180 degrees for optimal image placement on a wall or ceiling (1-4 meters distance).
- The projection can be rotated in 90-degree increments using the Projection button.
Note: The projection may not function correctly at distances less than 1 meter.
Important Notes for Reception
- Start the clock at night to allow automatic signal reception.
- Place the clock away from interference sources (TVs, computers, microwaves).
- Avoid placing on or near metal surfaces.
- Avoid enclosed areas like airports, basements, or cement buildings.
Battery Replacement
When the LCD display dims or the battery icon flashes, replace all 3 AA batteries simultaneously.
Guarantee
A 2-year guarantee covers material and workmanship defects (excluding batteries). The guarantee is valid in countries where the clock is officially sold. Cracked or broken lens screens are not covered.
