Quick Start Guide

There are 3 things you should know before using this product:
- Micro SD Card: If you don't have a Micro SD Card available at home now and don't want to spend extra time choosing one, please contact us directly. TIP: The Micro SD Card needs to be formatted after inserting it.
- Select 2.4G Wi-Fi: The product only supports 2.4G Wi-Fi. Please select 2.4G Wi-Fi when setting up the app.
- Select installation location: Please use your mobile phone to test the coverage of the home Wi-Fi signal at the planned installation position before installation, so that the product can receive a better signal.

What's Included
The AOSU SolarCam D1 Classic package includes:
- AOSU SolarCam D1 Classic camera unit.
- A pack containing screws and wall anchors.

Product Overview
The AOSU SolarCam D1 Classic features the following components:
- Antenna: For wireless connectivity.
- Status LED: Status indicator light.
- Infrared LEDs/Spotlights: For night vision capabilities.
- PIR Motion Sensor: Detects movement.
- Lens: The primary camera lens.
- Microphone: Captures audio.
- USB-C Port: For power input or charging.
- Speaker: Outputs audio.
- Reset button: Used to reset the device.
- Micro SD Card Slot: For local storage (supports up to 128GB).
- Power: Power indicator or connection point.
CAUTION: Please insert the Micro SD Card according to the direction shown in the diagram. Incorrect insertion may cause the Micro SD Card to jam and the device to be damaged.
Micro SD Card Port: Supports Micro SD Cards for local storage (Max 128GB).
Reset button: Press and hold the button for 3 seconds, and then the device will be ready to be connected.
Card capacity requirements: 8-128GB.
Read and write speed requirements: Class 10 level.
File format: FAT32.
Setting Up the System
Download the AOSU App from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices) by scanning the provided QR codes or searching directly.
Sign up for an AOSU App account, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup.
Mounting the Camera
Find a Good Mounting Spot
To find an optimal spot to mount the camera, you need to test wireless signal strength:
- Open the AOSU App and navigate to Camera Settings > Quick Start.
- Take your camera and phone to the desired mounting location to test the wireless signal strength.
- Move the camera as close to the Wi-Fi Router as possible to ensure a better signal.
The app will display the Wi-Fi signal strength, indicating if the current location is good for mounting.
Select Height
Hang the camera 2-3 meters above the ground. This height maximizes the detection range of the motion sensor, which can detect motion up to 10 meters away.
Select Location
- When installing in the northern hemisphere, face the camera to the south. When installing in the southern hemisphere, face the camera to the north.
- Take care to install the camera so that the sun is not blocked by any items such as eaves, trees, or branches.
Diagrams illustrate optimal and suboptimal placement regarding sun exposure and potential obstructions.
Test the Wi-Fi signal at installation position
Use your cell phone to test Wi-Fi signal quality at the installation position before installing the camera. Ensure the Wi-Fi router can provide a good Wi-Fi signal.
A weak signal is indicated by a cross mark (❌), while a strong signal is indicated by a check mark (✔️).
Installation
Follow these steps for installation:
- Drilling according to the position sticker, using a drill bit of 15/64" (6 mm).
- Insert the wall anchors (plugs).
- Tighten the screws to secure the base bracket.
What is required:
- Power Drill (not provided)
- 15/64" (6mm) Drill Bit
The process involves attaching a base bracket to the wall using screws and wall anchors, after which the camera is mounted onto the bracket.
