Assembly

Assembly requires two persons. Clear a space and remove packing materials. Wipe off any oily residue with a mild cleaner.

Tools Required: Included hex key, adjustable wrench, Phillips screwdriver. Do not use power tools.

  1. Ensure the power cord is unplugged. Identify the Right Upright (90). Have a second person hold it near the Frame (56). Route the Upright Wire (84) through the Right Upright using a wire tie.
  2. Attach the Right Upright (90) to the Frame (56) using a 3/8" x 4 1/4" Screw (43) and 3/8" Star Washer (12). Do not fully tighten yet. Insert a 3/8" x 2 1/2" Bolt (4) with a 3/8" Star Washer (12) into the Frame (56) and secure with a 3/8" Nut (34). Do not fully tighten. Attach the Left Upright similarly (no wires on the left).
  3. Remove ties from Cage Nuts (7). With help, hold the handrail assembly near the Right Upright (90). Connect the Handrail Wire (86) to the Upright Wire (84). Ensure connectors snap into place. Improper connection can damage the console. Remove the wire tie.
  4. Insert wires into the Right Upright (90) while positioning the handrail assembly on the Left and Right Uprights (89, 90). Be careful not to pinch wires. Slide the handrail assembly down onto the Uprights.
  5. Attach the handrail assembly using six 5/16" x 1" Bolts (53) and six 5/16" Star Washers (67). Start all bolts, then tighten.
  6. With help, hold the console assembly near the handrail assembly. Connect the Handrail Wire (86) and Pulse Wire (88) to the console wires. Set the console's metal bracket onto the frame. Attach the console with two 3/8" x 2 3/4" Screws (11) and two 3/8" Star Washers (12). Start and tighten screws.
  7. Firmly tighten the 3/8" x 2 3/4" Bolt (11) and 3/8" x 4 1/4" Screw (43) on each side.
  8. Adjustable cushions are shipped at firmest settings. Adjust to a softer setting before use.
  9. Ensure all parts are tightened. Remove protective plastic from decals. Place a mat under the treadmill. Keep hex keys secure.

Chest Heart Rate Monitor

The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor. It must be worn under clothing, tight against the skin, with the logo right-side up. Wet the electrode areas with saline solution (saliva or contact lens solution) before use for accurate readings.

Care and Maintenance:

  • Dry the sensor thoroughly after each use.
  • Store in a warm, dry place, not in a plastic bag.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (above 122°F/50°C or below 14°F/-10°C).
  • Do not excessively bend or stretch the sensor.
  • Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap; never use alcohol or abrasives. Hand wash and air dry the chest strap.

Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure proper placement on the chest.
  • Rewet electrode areas if readings are delayed until perspiring.
  • Be within arm's length of the console.
  • Replace the battery if applicable.
  • Note that medical conditions can affect readings. Magnetic interference may also cause issues.

Operation and Adjustment

Connecting the Power Cord

Use a surge suppressor rated for 120V AC, 15 amps, UL 1449 listed, with a suppressed voltage rating of 400V or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules. It must have a monitoring light. Do not use GFCI or AFCI outlets.

The treadmill must be grounded. If the plug does not fit, have a qualified electrician install a proper outlet. Do not modify the plug. Use a surge suppressor plugged into a properly grounded outlet.

A temporary adapter can be used if a grounded outlet is not available, but the adapter's lug must be connected to a permanent ground. Consult an electrician.

Moving requires two or three persons.

  1. Before moving, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and raise the incline to the highest position. Then, remove the key and unplug the cord.
  2. Hold the frame firmly. Do not lift by the handrail. Raise until it rolls freely on the wheels. Roll to the desired location and lower to the level position. Use extreme caution. Do not move over uneven surfaces.
  3. Ensure leveling feet rest firmly on the floor. If the treadmill rocks, loosen a nut, adjust the leveling foot, and retighten the nut.
