Safety System
The pressure cooker is equipped with two safety devices for over pressure:
- The safety valve releases pressure and steam escapes from its outlet.
- Steam also flows through the safety window.
If one of the safety devices is activated:
- Turn off the heat source immediately and let the cooker cool down.
- Open the pressure cooker.
- Check and clean the pressure regulator, steam outlet, safety valve, and gasket.
Safety Precautions
- Always supervise cooking, especially if children or handicapped individuals are present.
- Before each use, visually check that the steam outlet is not blocked. If blocked, clean with a clip and rinse.
- Before each use, check the mobility of the pressure regulator between positions.
- Never disassemble the lid.
- Minimum liquid quantity is 1/3 of the total capacity. Do not fill with food beyond 2/3 capacity. For expanding foods (rice, dehydrated vegetables), do not fill beyond half capacity.
- Turn down the heat when continuous steam release is observed from the steam outlet.
- Be cautious, released steam is very hot.
- Use side handles to move or lift the cooker; never use the revolving knob.
- Do not use bleach or chlorine-based products, as they can damage stainless steel.
- Do not use sharp or pointed objects for checks.
- When refitting the gasket, ensure it slips fully under each tab by pressing it towards the lid's edge for a perfect seal.
Opening the Pressure Cooker
- Press the knob lightly and turn it towards the unlocking symbol [unlock-symbol].
- Lift the lid off.
Closing the Pressure Cooker
- Place the lid over the cooker body, ensuring it sits correctly.
- Press the knob down, turning it towards the locking symbol [lock-symbol]. It is normal for the lid to twist slightly when locked.
- After locking, fit the clamps into the rim of the lid.
How to Use
Before First Use:
- Fill the cooker up to 2/3 with water.
- Set the pressure regulator to high pressure position (II) and the highest temperature.
- When steam starts releasing from the steam outlet, reduce the heat.
- After 15 minutes, turn off the heat.
- Gradually turn the pressure regulator towards the pressure release position [pressure-release-symbol].
- Once no more steam escapes and the safety valve is down, open the cooker. Rinse and dry.
Cooking:
- Place food inside the pressure cooker. Adhere to minimum liquid (1/3) and maximum food (2/3) levels. For expanding foods, do not exceed half capacity.
- Close the lid and ensure clamps are tightened.
- Check that the pressure regulator, safety valve, and safety valve inside the lid move freely.
- Set the pressure regulator to low (I) or high (II) pressure position.
- Cooking begins when steam escapes with a steady hissing sound. Reduce heat accordingly.
- The indicator valve shows a [yellow-line-indicator] when pressure builds up.
- Once the safety valve rises, the cooker cannot be opened due to internal pressure exceeding 5 KPA.
After Cooking:
Two pressure release methods:
- Slow Pressure Release: Gradually turn the regulator towards the pressure release position [pressure-release-symbol]. If unusual pressure release occurs, reset the regulator to a pressure position and repeat slowly.
- Fast Pressure Release (Emergency Only): Place the cooker under a cold running tap, directing water onto the metal part of the lid. Open only when the safety valve is down.
Open the cooker when no more steam escapes and the safety valve is down.
Indicator Valve Positions:
- Position (1): Turn down heat when the first [yellow-line-indicator] appears. Cooking starts.
- Position (2): Turn down heat when the second [yellow-line-indicator] appears. Cooking starts.
Warnings:
- Never leave the cooker unattended.
- Do not touch hot surfaces to avoid burns.
- Use handles and knob correctly.
- If overflow occurs (porridge, soup), reduce heat immediately to prevent splashing.
Notes:
- Gas escaping from the exhaust port before pressure is normal.
- A slight noise from the exhaust port after heat adjustment is normal. If the noise is harsh, reduce or turn off heat.
- If the [red-line-indicator] appears on the pressure indicator valve, the cooker is in an abnormal state.
Troubleshooting
Cannot Close Lid:
- Ensure clamps are fully open before fitting the lid.
- Check gasket condition and position.
Safety Valve Does Not Rise:
- Normal for the first few minutes.
- If it continues, check:
- Sufficient liquid in the pot.
- Heat source is high enough.
- Pressure regulator is set correctly.
- Cooker is closed properly.
- Clamps contact the lid's edge.
- Gasket is correctly positioned, clean, and in good condition.
- Safety valve is clean and mobile.
Safety Valve Lifted, No Steam from Outlet:
- Place cooker under cold water to release steam.
- Reset selector to initial position if pressure level not reached.
Steam Leaking Around Lid:
- Check lid is closed correctly.
- Check gasket is correctly fitted.
- Ensure lid, safety valve, and pressure regulator are clean.
- Check pot rim is not damaged.
Cannot Open Lid:
- Ensure safety valve is in the low position. If not, release steam by cooling under running water.
Food Burnt or Undercooked:
- Check cooking time.
- Check heat source.
- Check pressure regulator setting.
- Check liquid quantity.
- If food is burnt, soak the pot before cleaning.
Using the Steamer
- Place the steamer onto the tripod.
- Add water to the pot, ensuring it does not reach the steamer's bottom.
- Food can be cooked simultaneously in the cooker's base with at least 1/3 liquid.
- Food in the steamer must not touch the lid.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Wash the cooker after each use. For storage, turn the lid over onto the pot for stability.
Cleaning by Hand:
- Wash the pot in warm water with mild detergent. A scouring pad can be used for the inside.
- To clean the lid, remove the pressure regulator. Clean the lid under water with a sponge and detergent. Let it drip dry. Reassemble by replacing the pressure regulator.
Dishwasher Cleaning:
- The pot can be washed in a dishwasher.
- The lid cannot be washed in a dishwasher.
