CANHBNS1 Hi-Beam CAN-Bus Interface
Brand: Connects2
Model: CANHBNS1
Product Overview
The CANHBNS1 Hi-Beam Interface by Connects2 is a CAN-Bus interface designed to provide two active low-level outputs. This allows users to add additional high-current light sources or other accessories, controlled via the vehicle's high beam controls. The interface decodes data from the vehicle's CAN Bus to switch power to the connected accessory.
It offers three output options: a constant output, a variable output, and a 'follow me home' mode activated by successive high beam flashes. Its plug-and-play design ensures easy installation, making it ideal for vehicles requiring enhanced lighting for nighttime work.

Product Application
Vehicle: Nissan Navara
Model Years: 2014 - 2020
Prior to Installation
Read the manual thoroughly before installation. Technical knowledge is required. Ensure correct tools are used to prevent damage to the vehicle or product. Connects2 is not responsible for installation errors.
Installation Guide
- Locate the vehicle's OBD port, typically found to the right, underneath the steering wheel column.
- Connect the 12-pin molex connector to the Hi-Beam interface.
- Connect the Hi-Beam 1 or Hi-Beam 2 output to the additional accessory, using an automotive relay as needed, based on the desired function (refer to 'Functionality' section).
- Connect the female connector of the Hi-Beam harness to the vehicle's OBD port.
- Turn the vehicle's ignition on and test the functionality of the Hi-Beam interface with the connected accessory.
- Once successfully tested, the installation is complete.
Connector Profile
The Hi-Beam interface connects to the front of the vehicle's OBD port.

Functionality
Hi-Beam 1 Output:
- When the ignition is on and the engine is running, this output mirrors the state of the vehicle's high beam CAN signal. If the high beam is active, this output will be active.
Hi-Beam 2 Output:
- When the ignition is on and the engine is running, this output toggles each time the high beam is flashed. The output turns on after the first flash and remains on, turning off after the second flash.
Hi-Beam 1&2 Output (Follow Me Home):
- When the ignition is on but the engine is not running, this output activates the 'follow me home' function for a set duration. The countdown begins once the ignition is turned off (refer to 'Programming for Follow Me Home').
Programming for 'Follow Me Home'
The duration of the 'follow me home' function is determined by the number of 'high beam' flashes within 30 seconds of turning the engine off while the ignition remains on. After 30 seconds, the interface stops monitoring the high beam status for timer adjustments.
Flashes must occur no more than 1.5 seconds apart; longer intervals will disable the count.
- 1 flash = 30 seconds
- 2 flashes = 60 seconds
- 3 flashes = 120 seconds
- 4 flashes (maximum) = 300 seconds
After initiating the required number of flashes, turn the ignition off and remove the key. The connected accessory will remain active for the set duration.
If the accessory does not function correctly after the vehicle is turned off, restart the engine and repeat the programming process, ensuring adherence to the time limits.
Wiring Diagram
[Description of diagram: A schematic illustrating the wiring for the Hi-Beam Harness & Interface. It shows connections between the vehicle's original wiring, the Hi-Beam interface outputs (Hi-Beam 1 Output: Blue/Grey, Hi-Beam 2 Output: Green/Grey), and a Lightbar Output (Terminal 87). The diagram also details the power connections to a 12V Battery via a fuse and a 12V fused supply, referencing standard automotive relay terminals (30, 85, 86, 87).]
Key Connections:
- Hi-Beam Harness & Interface: Connects between the vehicle's original connections.
- Hi-Beam 1 Output: Blue/Grey wire, connects to Terminal 85.
- Hi-Beam 2 Output: Green/Grey wire, connects to Terminal 85.
- Lightbar Output: Terminal 87.
- Power Input: 12V Battery connected via a FUSE to Terminal 86 and 12V from fused supply connected to Terminal 30.
