Thank you for purchasing a Midea air conditioner. Please read this manual carefully before operating your new unit. Save this manual for future reference.

Quick Start Guide

  1. FIT BATTERIES: Slide the back cover down, insert batteries matching (+) and (-) ends, slide cover back.
  2. SELECT MODE: Press MODE button to cycle through AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, FAN.
  3. SELECT TEMPERATURE: Use TEMP ▲ or TEMP ∨ buttons to adjust temperature.
  4. SELECT FAN SPEED: Use FAN SPEED button to select AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  5. POINT REMOTE TOWARD UNIT: Ensure the remote is directed at the air conditioner.
  6. PRESS POWER BUTTON: Press ON/OFF to turn the unit on or off.

Special Note: Button designs may vary. If a function is not available on the unit, pressing the corresponding button on the remote will have no effect. In case of discrepancies between the "Remote Controller Manual" and the "USER'S MANUAL", the "USER'S MANUAL" description prevails.

Handling the Remote Controller

Inserting and Replacing Batteries

Your air conditioning unit may come with two batteries. Insert batteries before use:

  1. Slide the back cover downward to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Insert batteries, matching the (+) and (-) ends with the symbols inside the compartment.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Refer to local laws for proper disposal.

Notes for Using Remote Control (Compliance)

The device complies with local national regulations. In Canada, it complies with CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B). In the USA, it complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, subject to two conditions: (1) it may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits per FCC Rules, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. If interference occurs, users are encouraged to try correcting it by reorienting/relocating the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician. Unauthorized modifications may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

Buttons and Functions

Familiarize yourself with the remote control. Refer to "How to Use Basic Functions" for operating instructions.

ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.

TEMP ▲: Increases temperature in 1°C increments. Max. temperature is 30°C.

SET: Scrolls through operation functions (Fresh, I Sense, AP mode). The selected symbol flashes; press OK to confirm.

TEMP ∨: Decreases temperature in 1°C increments. Min. temperature is 17°C.

FAN SPEED: Selects fan speeds: AUTO → LOW → MED → HIGH.

TIMER ON: Sets timer to turn the unit on.

MODE: Scrolls through operation modes: AUTO → COOL → DRY → HEAT → FAN. (Note: HEAT mode may not be supported by cooling-only units).

SHORTCUT: Restores current or previous settings.

OK: Confirms selected functions.

SWING: Starts/stops horizontal louver movement. Hold for 2 seconds for vertical louver auto swing.

TIMER OFF: Sets timer to turn the unit off.

I SENSE: Activates I SENSE mode.

SLEEP: Saves energy during sleeping hours.

LED: Turns the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on/off for a comfortable environment.

Models: RG10F(B)/BGEF, RG10F1(B)/BGEF (Fresh feature not available)

How to Use Basic Functions

Basic Operation

ATTENTION! Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available before operation.

Setting Temperature

Operating temperature range: 17°C-30°C (62°F-86°F). Increase or decrease temperature in 1°C (1°F) increments.

AUTO Mode

  1. Press MODE to select AUTO.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP ▲ or TEMP ∨.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

In AUTO mode, the unit selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT based on set temperature. Fan speed cannot be set in AUTO mode.

COOL Mode

  1. Press MODE to select COOL.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP ▲ or TEMP ∨.
  3. Press FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

DRY Mode (dehumidifying)

  1. Press MODE to select DRY.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP ▲ or TEMP ∨.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: FAN SPEED cannot be changed in DRY mode.

FAN Mode

  1. Press MODE to select FAN mode.
  2. Press FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  3. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: Temperature cannot be set in FAN mode. The remote control's LCD screen will not display temperature.

HEAT Mode

  1. Press MODE to select HEAT.
  2. Set desired temperature using TEMP ▲ or TEMP ∨.
  3. Press FAN button to select fan speed: AUTO, LOW, MED, or HIGH.
  4. Press ON/OFF to start the unit.

Note: As outdoor temperature drops, HEAT function performance may be affected. Consider using other heating appliances in conjunction.

Setting the TIMER

TIMER ON/OFF

Set the time after which the unit will automatically turn on/off.

TIMER ON setting:

Press TIMER ON button. Use UP/DOWN buttons to set desired ON time. Point remote to unit and wait 1 second for activation.

TIMER OFF setting:

Press TIMER OFF button. Use TEMP UP/DOWN buttons to set desired OFF time. Point remote to unit and wait 1 second for activation.

Note: Time increases in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then in 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. Timer reverts to 0.0 after 24 hours. Cancel by setting timer to 0.0h.

TIMER ON & OFF setting (example)

Example: If current time is 1:00 PM, setting ON timer for 2.5 hours and OFF timer for 5 hours means the unit will turn on at 3:30 PM and turn off at 6:00 PM.

How to Use Advanced Functions

SHORTCUT function

Press SHORTCUT button: Restores previous settings (operating mode, temperature, fan speed, sleep feature). Pressing for more than 2 seconds restores current operation settings.

Swing function

Press Swing button: Horizontal louvers swing up/down. Press again to stop. Keep pressing for more than 2 seconds for vertical louver auto swing (model dependent).

°C/°F (some models)

Press this button to alternate temperature display between °C and °F.

LED DISPLAY

Press LED button: Turns the indoor unit's display and buzzer on/off.

SLEEP Function

Press SLEEP button: Decreases energy usage during sleep. This function can only be activated via remote control. Not available in FAN or DRY mode.

I SENSE (some models)

Press I SENSE button: Remote display shows actual temperature at its location. Signal sent to air conditioner every 3 minutes until I SENSE button is pressed again.

LOCK function

Press and hold LED and I SENSE (or LED and °C/°F) buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds to activate Lock function. All buttons become unresponsive except for the combination used to activate it, which can be used to disable locking.

SET function

Press SET button to enter function setting. Use SET, TEMP ∨, or TEMP ▲ to select desired function. Selected symbol flashes; press OK to confirm. To cancel, repeat the procedure. Functions include Fresh (lonizer/Plasma Dust Collector for impurity removal), and AP mode (wireless network configuration). For AP mode, some units require pressing the LED button seven times in 10 seconds.
