METOD Assembly Instructions
This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA METOD cabinet system. Please follow the steps carefully to ensure correct installation.
Parts List and Overview
The following components are typically included in the METOD system. Quantities may vary based on the specific configuration.
- METOD connection rail

- Cam lock screws and nuts

Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Cabinet Base
Assemble the base frame of the cabinet. This may involve connecting side panels to the base using dowels and cam lock fittings. Ensure all connections are secure.
Diagram 1 shows the initial assembly of cabinet boxes.
Step 2: Attach Connection Rails
Connect the METOD connection rails to the cabinet frame. These rails are crucial for joining multiple cabinets together or for mounting to the wall.
Diagram 2 illustrates attaching the connection rail.
Step 3: Install Back Panels
Slide or attach the back panels into the grooves on the cabinet frame. This provides stability and completes the basic cabinet structure.

Step 4: Assemble and Install Doors/Drawers
Assemble any doors or drawers according to their specific instructions. Attach hinges to doors and drawer runners to the cabinet interior. Mount the doors and drawers onto the assembled cabinet frame.

Step 5: Mounting and Securing
Secure the assembled cabinets to the wall using appropriate wall fixings (not always included). Ensure the cabinets are level and stable. Follow specific instructions for wall mounting based on your wall type.
Diagram 7 shows the final placement and leveling of cabinets.
Step 6: Final Adjustments
Make any necessary adjustments to doors, drawers, or shelves to ensure proper alignment and function. Check that all fittings are tightened.

Important Notes:
- Always use the correct tools as indicated in the diagrams (e.g., screwdriver, hammer).
- Ensure a minimum clearance of 20 cm for certain components as shown in the diagrams.
- Refer to the specific part numbers for correct identification of fittings.
- For wall mounting, use appropriate screws and wall plugs for your wall type (e.g., plasterboard, brick).
