Safety Warnings

General Safety Precautions

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury, or exposure to excessive microwave energy, follow basic safety precautions:

  • Never operate the oven with the door open. Do not tamper with safety mechanisms.
  • Do not place objects between the oven door and the oven body. Keep sealing surfaces clean.
  • If door seals are damaged, do not use the oven until repaired by qualified personnel.
  • Improper maintenance or cleaning can shorten the appliance's lifespan and increase the risk of hazards.

Microwave Energy Exposure Warnings

  • Never operate the oven with the door open.
  • Do not attempt to disable or remove safety devices.
  • Do not place objects between the front panel of the casing and the oven door.
  • If door seals are damaged, the oven must not be used until repaired by qualified service personnel.
  • Do not heat liquids or other food in sealed containers, as they may explode.
  • Never leave the oven unattended when heating food in paper or plastic packaging, as such packaging can be flammable.
  • Use only microwave-safe accessories.
  • If you notice smoke from the oven, close the door and switch off the appliance or unplug it to smother any flames.
  • When heating beverages, be aware of delayed boiling (superheating) and potential for sudden boiling over. Handle containers with hot beverages with care.
  • Do not heat eggs in their shells, as they may explode even after the microwave heating program has finished.
  • Clean the oven regularly and remove food residue. Poor cleanliness can damage surfaces and lead to hazardous situations.
  • Use only the recommended temperature probe for this oven, if applicable.
  • If your microwave has decorative doors, they should be open during operation.
  • Do not use the oven for drying food or clothing, heating compresses, socks, sponges, damp cloths, or similar items, as this can cause injury or fire.
  • Never use metal containers for food and beverages during microwave preparation.
  • Never clean the oven with a steam cleaner.
  • To prevent overheating, do not place the appliance behind decorative doors (unless the appliance has decorative doors designed for this).
  • This microwave oven is designed for installation into a kitchen unit.
  • When removing dishes, be careful not to dislodge or move the turntable.

Electrical Safety

  • To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, adhere to basic safety precautions.
  • Children aged eight years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, may use this appliance only under supervision or if they have been instructed on its safe use and understand the associated hazards. Do not let children play with the appliance. Do not allow children to clean or perform maintenance without adult supervision.
  • The appliance and its power cord must be kept out of reach of children under 8 years old.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
  • WARNING: Before replacing a bulb, ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains to prevent electric shock.
  • WARNING: Repairs and service requiring removal of protective covers that shield against microwave radiation must only be performed by qualified service technicians, as such work is very dangerous.

Grounding Instructions

  • DANGER: Risk of electric shock! Touching certain components can cause serious injury or death. Do not disassemble the appliance.
  • WARNING: Risk of electric shock! Improper grounding can cause electric shock. Do not plug the appliance into an outlet until it is properly installed and grounded.
  • The appliance must be grounded. In case of a short circuit, the ground wire reduces the risk of electric shock by allowing the electrical charge to dissipate.
  • The appliance is equipped with a power cord with a ground wire and a grounded plug. The plug must be connected to a properly installed and grounded outlet.
  • If you do not understand the grounding instructions or are unsure if the appliance is properly grounded, consult a qualified electrician or service technician.
  • If you must use an extension cord, use one with three wires.
  • The appliance's power cord is short to reduce the risk of injury from entanglement or tripping over a long cord.
  • When using a longer cord or extension cord: Ensure its electrical specifications are at least as high as the appliance's. The extension cord must have three conductors, including a ground wire. Route the cord so it does not hang over the work surface where children could pull it or where you could trip on it.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply (unplug it).
  • Clean the interior with a slightly damp cloth.
  • Wash accessories by hand in soapy water.
  • Carefully clean the door frame, seal, and surrounding areas with a damp cloth if they become dirty.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers, as they can damage surfaces and cause glass to crack.
  • Cleaning Tip: For easier cleaning of interior surfaces that come into contact with food, place half a lemon in a bowl with 300 ml of water and heat for 10 minutes at 100% microwave power. Wipe the oven dry with a soft cloth.

Accessories

CAUTION: Risk of personal injury! Repairs and service requiring removal of protective covers that shield against microwave radiation must only be performed by qualified service technicians.

Refer to the sections describing materials suitable and unsuitable for microwave use. Some non-metallic accessories may also be unsuitable.

Testing Accessories

  • Place 250 ml of cold water in a microwave-safe container and put it in the oven with the accessory to be tested.
