Installation Instructions
- Prepare Fan: Use the pull chains to set the fan speed to HIGH and the light to ON.
- Turn Off Power: Ensure the power is OFF at the outlet box and wall switch location before proceeding. [Power OFF]
- Remove Canopy: Remove the fan's canopy. Note existing wire connections or take a photo. Remove wire connectors from the outlet box to the fan, leaving grounding wires connected.
- Install Receiver: Choose a hanging system similar to your fan's. Install the receiver and wire as directed. Note: Installation may be difficult on angled ceilings. Call 1-888-830-1326 for assistance. Some fans may have excess wire; trim to leave a minimum of 8 inches, re-strip fan wires to 1/2 inch, and place excess wire into the ceiling electrical box. Ensure the bracket and fan remain properly grounded.
- Connect Ground Wires: Using an orange wire connector, connect the three grounding wires (green, green/yellow stripe, or bare copper) from the ceiling, downrod, and hanging bracket. ⚠️ All wiring must comply with national and local electrical codes (ANSI/NFPA 70). Consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
- Wire Receiver to Fan: Using orange wire connectors, connect the receiver's blue wire to the fan's blue wire (or black with white stripe wire). Connect the receiver's yellow wire to the fan's black wire.
- Wire Receiver and Fan to Ceiling: Using orange wire connectors, connect the ceiling's black wire (ungrounded) to the receiver's black wire. Connect the ceiling's white wire (grounded) to both the receiver's white wire and the fan's white wire. Push wire splices upward into the outlet box, separating grounded and ungrounded wires.
- Reinstall Canopy: After all wires are connected and secured, reinstall the canopy according to the fan's owner's manual.
- Turn On Power: Turn the power back ON. ❗ IMPORTANT: Use the pull chain to set the fan speed to HIGH before operation. [Power ON]
- Pair Receiver: Pair your receiver to a compatible Hunter wall control or handheld remote (sold separately) by following the instructions included with the remote. To prevent faulty operation, disconnect power from all other Hunter ceiling fans within range while pairing.
Pairing Success Note: If pairing is successful, the fan will turn ON to low speed. If a light is installed, it will flash 3 times and remain ON. If unpairing is successful, the fan will turn OFF. If a light is installed, it will flash 3 times and remain OFF.
