Product Safety Instructions
⚠️ WARNING: This product may contain lead, phthalate or other chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm. Wash your hands after use.
Charging Procedure
Note: Before using the charger, read this instruction book carefully.
1. Charging Your Battery Pack
This charger is designed to charge one or two battery packs simultaneously or sequentially.
⚠️ WARNING: The charger and battery pack are specifically designed to work together. Do not attempt to use other devices to charge. Never insert or allow metallic objects into your charger or battery pack connections, as this can cause electrical failure and hazard.
2. Before Using Your Cordless Tool
Your battery pack is UNCHARGED and must be charged before first use.
Charging Steps:
- Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet.
- Slide one or two battery packs into the charger. The relevant indicator lights (2) will typically flash green, indicating the battery is being charged.
- The charger supports two charging modes: Dual-Charging (default) and 1-by-1 charging.
- Dual-Charging Mode: Charges two battery packs simultaneously.
- 1-by-1 Charging Mode: Charges the battery pack with the higher residual capacity first until fully charged, then charges the second battery pack. This mode helps reduce waiting time for a single battery charge.
- Either charging mode can be selected by pressing the Charging Mode Selector (3).
⚠️ WARNING: When a battery charge runs out after continuous use or exposure to direct sunlight or heat, allow the battery to cool down before re-charging to achieve a full charge.
Charging Indicator Lights
This charger is designed to detect problems with battery packs. Indicator lights signal issues. If an issue occurs, insert a new battery pack to test. If the new pack charges correctly, the original pack may be defective and should be returned for service or recycling. If the new pack shows the same problem, have the charger tested at an authorized service center.
Light Status | ON/OFF | Status |
---|---|---|
Green on | - | Fully Charged |
Green flash | - | Charging |
Red on | - | Defective Battery |
Red flash | - | Battery Temperature Protection (too hot or too cold) |
Battery Temperature Protection: If the charger detects a battery pack that is too hot or cold (indicated by red flashing light), it activates a protection circuit and suspends charging until the battery pack reaches the correct temperature. Charging will then resume automatically (green flashing light). This feature maximizes battery life.
Defective Battery Packs
The charger attempts to repair defective battery packs. This process takes about 30 minutes (indicated by a green flashing light). If successful, charging will begin (green flashing light). If the light turns solid red, the battery pack is dead and should be returned for service or recycling.
Note: Repaired battery packs are usable but may not perform like new ones.
Leaving the Battery Pack in the Charger
If a fully charged battery pack remains in the charger, the green light will stay on. The battery pack will receive a maintenance trickle charge.
Important Charging Notes
- For new battery packs or those stored for a long period, recharge them before use. For long-term storage, fully charge the battery pack to ensure maximum lifespan.
- Optimal charging occurs between 65-75°F (18°-24°C). Do not charge below 40°F (4.5°C) or above 105°F (40.5°C) to prevent damage.
- Never freeze or immerse the charger in water or any liquid.
- If a battery pack produces insufficient power for tasks it previously handled easily, recharge it. Do not continue using it in that state. Partially used packs can be recharged anytime without adverse effects.
- It is normal for the charger and battery pack to become warm during charging.
- If the battery pack does not charge properly:
- Check the power outlet by plugging in another appliance.
- Plug and unplug the charger to test its functionality.
- Inspect the battery pack for damage.
- Move the charger and battery pack to an environment with an ambient temperature of approximately 65-75°F (18°-24°C).
- If the problem persists, take the tool, battery pack, and charger to an authorized service center.
- Foreign conductive materials (like metallic particles) can short the charging contacts inside the charger. Keep charger cavities clear of such materials. Always unplug the charger when no battery pack is inserted or before cleaning.
Problem Solution
I Cannot Fit the Battery Pack into the Battery Charger. Why?
- Ensure the charger and battery pack are designed to work together.
- The battery pack can only be inserted in one direction. Rotate the pack until it fits the slot. The indicator light should flash green when charging.
Reasons for Different Charging Times
- Partially discharged packs may recharge faster than rated time.
- Very cold or hot ambient temperatures can increase charging time. Use an appropriate environment.
- Very hot battery packs require cooling down before recharging.
- Batteries with higher Amp Hour ratings require longer charging times.
Maintenance
Remove the plug from the socket before performing any adjustment, servicing, or maintenance.
Your battery charger requires no additional lubrication or maintenance. Never use water or chemical cleaners. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Always store the charger in a dry place.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
