Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for the initial setup and assembly of your RMX 2.0 RTR.
STEP 1: Pasting Sponge & Electronic Setting
This step involves applying shock-absorbing foam and setting up the electronics. Ensure the following operations are performed before assembling the main parts package:
- Install transmitter batteries.
- Loosen the receiver antenna.
- Connect the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) and battery.
- Switch on the transmitter.
- Switch on the ESC.
- Allow the car to stand for approximately 3 seconds until the front wheels turn once in either direction.
- To complete the boot process, individually turn the steering left and right to their full extent.
Note: The default settings are pre-configured by the factory. The RMX 2.0 RTR electronics (Transceiver set, ESC, Gyro) are ready for use after battery connection. Refer to specific instructions for adjustments.
⚠️ Please use this product in a safe, open area.
STEP 2: Attaching Battery
Connect the car battery to the ESC. The battery installation method and conservation may vary by battery specification. Recommended battery dimensions are L140mm × W48mm × H25.4mm (maximum).
▶️ Connect to battery!
⚠️ After all settings are finished, please use the product in a safe place. Before use, turn on the transmitter first, then the car. Turn off in reverse order.
STEP 3: Attaching Body Mount
Adjust the body mount height according to the car's body shell for proper fitment.

Key component groups shown include:
- Chassis components (lower and upper decks)
- Suspension arms and stays
- Drivetrain parts (gears, shafts, differentials)
- Shock absorbers and related parts
- Steering components
- Wheel hubs and axles
- Electronic component mounting
- Bumpers and body mounts
A comprehensive parts code list is provided on page 12, detailing each component's part number, name, and quantity.
Setup Sheet
The setup sheet allows users to record and fine-tune various performance parameters of the RMX 2.0 RTR. This includes:
- Caster: Adjustable angles (6°, 8°, 10°, 12°).
- Camber: Front (e.g., 6°) and Rear (e.g., 5°).
- Toe-in: Front (e.g., -8) and Rear (e.g., -3).
- Ride Height: Specified measurements (e.g., 6mm front/rear).
- Roll Center: Adjustment points indicated.
- Shock Oil: Viscosity (e.g., #10) and piston hole size.
- Springs: Color coding (e.g., Red for hard, Purple-yellow for soft) and length (e.g., 31mm).
- Steering: Servo horn type (e.g., 23T/25T).
- Differential: Options like Spool, Ball diff., Alum spool, Alum ball diff.
- Gear Ratio: Spur gear, pinion gear, and reduction gear selections.
Users can download a blank setup sheet from the official MST website (www.rc-mst.com) for detailed tuning.
Gear Ratio and Tire Compound
Gear Ratio Calculation: The formula for calculating the gear ratio is provided: (Spur gear teeth / Pinion gear teeth) × (Diff. ring gear / Diff. pinion gear) = Gear ratio.
A chart lists various gear ratios achievable with an 80T Spur Gear and different pinion and differential gear combinations, along with corresponding part numbers.
CS-R Tire Compound Chart: This chart helps select the appropriate tire compound based on track conditions:
Color | Compound Code | Notes |
---|---|---|
YELLOW | 830001 | SOFT |
RED | 101024/830002 | |
GREEN | 830003 | |
GOLD | 101025/830009 | |
SILVER | 101026 | HARD |
