Charging VZ-X ULTRA

Charge the VZ-X ULTRA before use to ensure sufficient battery power.

  1. Connect the included USB-C cable to the VZ-X ULTRA's USB-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a 5V/2A USB power adapter (not included).
  3. Plug the adapter into an outlet for charging.

Notes:

  • Charging via a computer's USB port is possible but takes longer than using a power adapter.
  • The VZ-X ULTRA can be used while plugged into a power outlet, regardless of its remaining battery power.

When charging, the Battery Status Indicators will flash Green. All indicators will be solid Green when fully recharged.

Notes:

  • It takes approximately 9 hours to fully recharge an empty battery when the VZ-X ULTRA is powered off. Recharging will take longer if the device is in use.
  • A full charge provides at least 9 hours of battery life.

Connecting Wirelessly to Your Devices

The VZ-X ULTRA can be used wirelessly with iOS/Android devices (iPad, iPhone, Android Tablet, Android Phone), Mac, or PC. Check the battery level before use.

A. Using VZ-X ULTRA's unique SSID:

  1. Turn on the VZ-X ULTRA using the Power Switch.
  2. Check the LED Indicator: Green and Amber lights should be on. If the Amber light is off, switch to Wi-Fi mode using the Mode Switch on the back.
  3. On your device, turn on Wi-Fi, browse available connections, and connect to the VZ-X ULTRA's SSID (found on the bottom label).
  4. Launch IPEVO EyeStage, Visualizer, or WHITEBOARD and select VZ-X ULTRA as the camera device. A live image should appear. For more information, visit https://www.ipevo.com/software.

Notes:

  • VZ-X ULTRA supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • The effective wireless range is approximately 33ft (10m), but can be affected by obstacles and other wireless signals. Adjust placement for optimal streaming.
  • Actual transmission rate depends on the network environment. Multiple wireless signals can cause interference.

To stay connected to a Wi-Fi network while using VZ-X ULTRA in Wi-Fi mode:

  1. Connect VZ-X ULTRA to your computer via Wi-Fi and open a browser.
  2. Type 10.10.10.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Access the VZ-X ULTRA's advanced settings. Log in with the default account and password: admin/admin.
  4. Click “Connect to AP” in the upper right corner.
  5. Click the blue refresh button to see available networks. Select the desired network and enter the password.
  6. Check the status in the lower left: “CONNECTED” indicates success. If not, repeat the process, ensuring the correct Wi-Fi password is used.
  7. Once connected, the network will be saved, and VZ-X ULTRA will connect automatically next time.

B. Using with a 4K Wireless Display Receiver (EZCast ULTRA U1):

With your VZ-X ULTRA purchase, you receive a free EZCast dongle. Contact your distributor or customer service for assistance. The EZCast dongle has a one-year warranty.

  1. Turn on VZ-X ULTRA using the Power Switch.
  2. Check the LED Indicator: Green and Amber lights should be on. If Amber is off, switch to Wi-Fi mode using the Mode Switch.
  3. Connect EZCast ULTRA U1 to a TV or projector using HDMI and USB-A ports. HDMI transmits video; USB powers the EZCast ULTRA U1. Set your TV's input to the connected HDMI port.
  4. Press and hold the “Action” button on VZ-X ULTRA for 5-10 seconds to initiate pairing with the 4K wireless display receiver. Release the button when the Amber LED turns off.
  5. Wait approximately 60 seconds. Green, Amber, and White LEDs on indicate successful pairing. If the Amber LED flashes, pairing failed; reboot VZ-X ULTRA and try again.

Projection Screen Status:

  • Connected: Signal source symbol in blue.
  • Connection failed: Signal source symbol in gray. Restart VZ-X ULTRA and re-pair.

Note: To use VZ-X ULTRA with other software platforms (e.g., Google Meet), download and install the VirtualCam Controller or EyeStage add-on from the IPEVO support section. Select VZ-X ULTRA as the source camera in the add-on, and IPEVO Virtual Cam as your camera in your software platform.
