General Power Tool Safety Warnings
⚠️ WARNING: Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" refers to mains-operated or battery-operated tools.
Work Area Safety
- Keep work area clean and well lit.
- Do not operate in explosive atmospheres (flammable liquids, gases, dust). Sparks can ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away. Distractions can lead to loss of control.
Electrical Safety
- Ensure power tool plugs match the outlet. Do not modify plugs or use adapter plugs with earthed tools.
- Avoid body contact with earthed/grounded surfaces (pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators).
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
- Do not abuse the cord. Keep it away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts.
- Use extension cords suitable for outdoor use when operating outdoors.
- Use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply in damp locations.
Personal Safety
- Stay alert, use common sense. Do not operate when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- Use personal protective equipment: always wear eye protection ?. Use dust masks ?, non-skid safety shoes ?, hard hats ⛑️, or hearing protection ? as appropriate.
- Prevent unintentional starting: ensure the switch is OFF before connecting to power/battery, picking up, or carrying the tool.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on.
- Do not overreach; maintain proper footing and balance for better control.
- Dress properly: avoid loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
- If dust extraction facilities are provided, ensure they are connected and used properly to reduce dust-related hazards.
Power Tool Use and Care
- Do not force the tool; use the correct tool for the application.
- Do not use if the switch does not turn the tool on/off.
- Disconnect from power source/battery before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing.
- Store idle tools out of reach of children and untrained persons.
- Maintain tools: check for misalignment, binding, or breakage. Have damaged tools repaired before use.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for easier control and to prevent binding.
- Use tools and accessories according to instructions, considering working conditions.
Service
- Have tools serviced by qualified personnel using identical replacement parts.
Hammer Safety Warnings
- Wear ear protectors ?. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
- Use auxiliary handle(s) if supplied. Loss of control can cause injury.
- Hold by insulated gripping surfaces when accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a "live" wire can cause electric shock.
GB Specific: Products sold in Great Britain are fitted with a BS 1363/A approved plug with an internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362). If the plug is unsuitable, it must be replaced by an authorized agent with one of the same fuse rating. Dispose of the severed plug to avoid shock hazard.
AUS/NZ Specific: Use a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
Additional Safety and Working Instructions
- Observe mains voltage: it must correspond to the type plate data.
- Use appropriate detectors to locate hidden utility lines before working. Contact with electric lines can cause fire/shock; damaging gas lines can cause explosion; water lines cause property damage.
- Firmly tighten the auxiliary handle, hold the machine firmly with both hands, and maintain proper footing and balance.
- Insert SDS-max application tool: check latching by pulling the tool.
- Replace damaged dust protection caps immediately to prevent dust penetration into the tool holder.
- Be aware of dust hazards: materials like lead coatings, certain woods, minerals, and metals can be harmful, causing allergic reactions, respiratory infections, or cancer. Asbestos-containing materials must only be worked by specialists.
- Use a dust extraction system suitable for the material where possible.
- Ensure good ventilation of the working place.
- It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator ?.
- Observe relevant country regulations for materials being worked.
- To save energy, switch the tool on only when in use.
- Always wait for the machine to stop completely before placing it down to prevent tool jamming and loss of control.
Restarting Protection: In chiselling mode, this feature prevents uncontrolled starting after a power failure. To restart, switch the On/Off switch to OFF and then back on.

Delivery Scope
Demolition hammer, auxiliary handle. Application tools and other accessories shown or described are not part of the standard delivery scope. A complete overview of accessories can be found in the accessories program.
Intended Use
The machine is intended for chiselling in concrete, brick, stone, and asphalt.
Technical Data
The technical data of the machine are listed on page 149. Values are valid for a nominal voltage of 230 V; these may vary for different voltages and country-specific models.
Declaration of Conformity
Robert Bosch GmbH declares that the product described under "Technical Data" conforms to standards and directives including EN 60745, 2011/65/EU, 2004/108/EC, 2006/42/EC, and 2000/14/EC. The guaranteed sound power level is 105 dB(A). Conformity assessment was performed according to Annex VI. Notified body: TÜV NORD CERT GmbH & Co. KG.
Noise/Vibration Information
Measured values are listed on page 149. Noise and vibrational values (vector sum of three directions) are determined according to EN 60745.
Vibration Information
The vibration level stated has been measured according to a standardized test in EN 60745 and can be used for comparison. It represents the main applications of the tool. If the tool is used for different applications, with different accessories, or is poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ, potentially increasing the exposure level. Estimation of exposure should also consider times when the tool is switched off or not performing work. Additional safety measures to protect the operator from vibration effects include maintaining the tool and accessories, keeping hands warm, and organizing work patterns.

Maintenance and Cleaning
- For safe and proper working, keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- If the supply cord needs replacement, it must be done by Bosch or an authorized Bosch service agent to avoid hazards.
Service Indicator
When carbon brushes are worn, the machine switches off. This is indicated approximately 8 hours beforehand by the service indicator lighting or blinking. The machine must then be sent to an after-sales service agent. If the service indicator flashes at regular intervals, the machine is defective and should not be used; send it immediately to an after-sales service agent.
After-sales Service and Application Service
Bosch after-sales service provides support for maintenance, repair, and spare parts. Exploded views and spare part information are available at www.bosch-pt.com. The application service team can answer questions about products and accessories.
When corresponding or ordering spare parts, always include the 10-digit article number from the machine's type plate.
