2 Avoiding Material Damage

- WARNING Risk of electric shock! Penetrating moisture can cause electric shock. Do not use wet sponge cloths.
- Condensate flowing back can damage the appliance. Ensure the air extraction duct has a gradient of at least 1° away from the appliance.
- Do not pull on design elements or hang objects from them, as they may break.
3 Environmental Protection and Saving Energy
3.1 Disposing of Packaging
Packaging materials are environmentally compatible and recyclable. Sort components by type for separate disposal.
3.2 Saving Energy
To reduce power consumption:
- Adjust fan speed to the amount of steam produced. Lower speed consumes less energy.
- Use intensive mode only when necessary.
- Select a higher fan speed promptly for large amounts of steam to reduce odour distribution.

4 Operating Modes
4.1 Air Extraction Mode
Air is cleaned by grease filters and conveyed to the exterior via a pipe system. The air must not be discharged into a flue used by fuel-burning appliances without consent from the heating engineer. Use a telescopic duct for external wall discharge.
4.2 Air Recirculation Mode
Air is cleaned by grease filters and an odour filter, then conveyed back into the room. An odour filter is required for this mode. Accessories for circulating-air mode are available from specialist retailers, customer service, or the online shop.
5 Familiarising Yourself with Your Appliance

5.1 Controls, Variant 1 and 2

6 Basic Operation
6.1 Control Panel, Variant 1 and 2

- Selecting a fan setting: Press the fan setting buttons.
- Switching on/off the lighting: Press the lighting button.
6.2 Control Panel, Variant 3
- Switching on the appliance: Pull out the filter pull-out, then press the power button. The appliance starts at fan setting 2.

7 Cleaning and Servicing

7.2 Cleaning the Appliance

7.3 Removing the Grease Filter
- Pull out the filter pull-out fully.
- Grip below the grease filter with one hand to prevent it from falling. Remove filters from the filter pull-out first, then from the appliance.
- Open the locks on the grease filters and remove them from the holders, holding them horizontally to prevent grease dripping.
7.4 Cleaning Grease Filters in the Dishwasher
WARNING Risk of fire! Clean grease filters regularly.
- Do not squeeze the grease filters.
- Light discolouration may occur in the dishwasher, but does not affect performance.
- Place grease filters loosely in the dishwasher. Select a temperature of no more than 70°C.

- Allow the grease filters to drain after washing.
7.5 Cleaning Grease Filters Manually

- Soak the grease filter in hot soapy water. Use a brush to clean.

7.6 Fitting Grease Filters

12.5 Instructions for the Exhaust Air Pipe
The manufacturer does not warranty faults related to the pipeline. Use a short, straight pipe with the largest possible diameter. Long, rough pipes, many bends, or small diameters reduce suction power and increase noise. Use non-combustible material. Fit the pipe with a 1° gradient away from the appliance to prevent condensate return. Recommended round pipe diameter is 150 mm (minimum 120 mm). Flat ducts should have corresponding cross-sections. Use sealing strips for different diameters and avoid sharp bends in flat ducts.
12.6 Instructions for the Electrical Connection
Ensure safe connection to the electrical system.
- WARNING Risk of electric shock! The appliance must be disconnectable from the electricity supply. Connect to a correctly installed protective contact socket. The mains plug must be easily accessible. If not, install an all-pole isolating switch. Wiring must be done by a professional electrician. Consider installing a residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB).
- Sharp-edged components can damage the connecting cable. Do not kink or trap the cable.
- Connection data is on the rating plate inside the appliance. The connecting cable is approx. 1.30 m long.

12.7 General Information
Observe current building regulations and local electricity/gas supplier regulations. Observe official regulations for exhaust air discharge. The extractor hood width must match or exceed the hob width. Install the appliance centrally over the hob for optimal vapour detection. Select an easily accessible installation site for servicing. 12.8 Installation
Checking the unit: Ensure the unit is level, stable, heat-resistant, and meets dimension requirements.
Preparing the units: Cover the hob. Ensure unit stability after cutouts. If the cabinet is less than 320 mm deep, remove part of the back panel. Create the cutout for the pipe connection. Remove the cabinet base if in place. Remove shavings. Mark fastening points and make indentations.
Preparing the appliance: Insert holders for the wall edging strip. Secure the handle strip to the filter pull-out using screws. Connect the power cord and secure the strain relief. Screw the angle brackets to the appliance, leaving 8 mm of the threaded section protruding.
Installing the appliance: Hang the appliance on the screws using the angle brackets, align, and tighten. For 90 cm width appliances, pull the filter pull-out out completely and screw the appliance to the side upper cabinets from below. Adjust the wall closing strip to the clearance between the appliance and the wall, then snap it into place. Fit the grease filters. Establish the pipe connection. Establish the electrical connection.
Concealing the housing: The housing can be concealed within the upper cabinet, ensuring the intermediate floor does not rest on it, the front panel is not secured to it, and access for filter changes and servicing remains possible.
Changing the filter pull-out's limit stop: Shorten spacers and insert them into the specified slot to adjust the handle strip flush with the fitted unit.
