Grandstream GWN7610 Wireless Access Point
Quick Installation Guide
Product Overview
The Grandstream GWN7610 is a high-performance 802.11ac wireless access point designed for small to medium-sized businesses, multi-floor offices, commercial locations, and branch offices. It features dual-band 4x4:4 MU-MIMO technology and an advanced antenna design for maximum network throughput and extended Wi-Fi coverage. The GWN7610 utilizes a controller-less distributed network management design, embedding the controller within the product's web user interface, allowing each access point to manage its own network independently. It supports fast roaming, advanced QoS, low-latency real-time applications, can support over 200 client devices per AP, and includes dual Gigabit network ports with PoE/PoE+. It is ideal for both large and small wireless network deployments, and can also be managed by the GWN Cloud system.

Connecting to the Default Wi-Fi Network
The GWN7610 can be used as a standalone access point out of the box or after a factory reset, with Wi-Fi enabled by default. Upon powering up and connecting to the network, it broadcasts a default SSID based on its MAC address (GWN[last 6 digits of MAC]) and a random password. The default SSID and password are printed on the unit's MAC tag.
Accessing the Configuration Interface
Connect a computer to the GWN7610's SSID or the same network to discover and access its configuration interface using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Discover using MAC Address
- Locate the MAC address on the unit's MAC tag (underside of the device or package).
- From a computer on the same network, type the following address in your browser:
https://gwn_<mac>.local
- Example: For a GWN7610 with MAC address 00:0B:82:8C:4D:F8, use
https://gwn_000b828c4df8.local
.
Method 2: Discover using GWN Discovery Tool
- Download and install the GWN Discovery Tool from:
http://www.grandstream.com/tools/GWNDiscoveryTool.zip
- Open the tool and click 'Scan'.
- The tool will discover GWN76XX Access Points on the network, showing their MAC and IP addresses.
- Click 'Manage Device' to go directly to the configuration interface, or manually enter the displayed IP address in your browser.
- Log in using the default administrator username 'admin' and the random password found on the unit's sticker.
Notes:
- Ensure the GWN7610 is not paired as a slave with another GWN76xx Access Point, GWN7000 Router Series, or GWN.Cloud, otherwise the configuration interface will not be accessible.
- If already paired, unpair it first or perform a factory reset.
- Compliance with local regulations for frequency bands and transmit power is the customer's responsibility.
