Product Overview
The Actiontec Q1000 is a high-performance Wireless N VDSL Modem Router designed to provide robust home networking capabilities. It integrates VDSL2 modem technology with 802.11n wireless, offering advanced features and backward compatibility with ADSL2+/2 standards.
The device features a sleek, black, rectangular chassis with two prominent antennas for enhanced wireless signal coverage. The front panel is equipped with various LED indicator lights for status monitoring, a power button, and essential ports including DSL WAN, Ethernet LAN, Phone, and USB Host.
Key Features
Powerful Performance
The Q1000 is built with a powerful wireless N radio, a gigabit Ethernet switch, a dual-core 32-bit processor, and ample memory (32MB Flash, 64MB SDRAM). This robust configuration enables simultaneous support for demanding multimedia applications such as HDTV, standard TV, Voice over WiFi, media sharing, and online gaming. It surpasses typical routers that use single-core processors and less memory.
Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity
Integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports on the LAN side provide high-speed connectivity up to 1000 Mbps. This allows for seamless streaming of online videos, rapid downloads of large files, and efficient transfer of massive data volumes without performance issues.
802.11n Wireless with MIMO Technology
The router supports 802.11n wireless standards, ensuring high-speed wireless networking and backward compatibility with older protocols. It utilizes MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) smart antenna technology to improve wireless experience, offering better whole-home coverage and minimizing dead spots.
VDSL2 and ADSL2+/2 Backward Compatibility
Operating on VDSL2 access technology, the Q1000 also features an "Auto Fallback to ADSL2+/2" option. This capability allows it to function on ADSL2+ and ADSL2 networks, simplifying inventory and providing a future-proof solution.
Home Management Capabilities
The router empowers users to manage their entire home network, facilitating file transfers between devices, multi-room music playback, and online gaming. It is designed to handle multiple operations concurrently.
Downloadable Applications via Java
The Q1000 can host a Java Virtual Machine and Java Runtime Software, enabling the deployment of Java applications. This modular approach allows for selective updates for features like home automation or enhanced security, without requiring a full firmware update.
Advanced Security and Management
Robust Firewall and Wireless Security
The wireless-enabled gateway supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption standards. Each wireless gateway is assigned a unique ID to prevent hacking. The Q1000 includes a customizable firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection, denial-of-service protection, content filtering, intrusion detection, and WPA/WPA2/WEP wireless encryption to protect the network from unauthorized access.
TR-069 Support and Remote Management
The Q1000 is equipped with TR-069 support, providing technical support staff with advanced remote management and troubleshooting capabilities for enhanced customer service.
