Safety Precautions
Also refer to the installation manual attached to the indoor unit.
Please read these "Safety Precautions" carefully before installing the remote controller. This manual classifies precautions into WARNINGS and CAUTIONS. Follow all precautions as they are important for safety.
WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices.
General Installation Precautions
- After installation, conduct a test operation, check for faults, and explain operation and cleaning to the customer using the operation manual. Ensure the customer stores the installation manual with the operation manual.
- WARNING: Ask your dealer or qualified personnel to carry out installation. Do not attempt self-installation, as improper installation may result in electric shocks or fire.
- Consult your local dealer for relocation and reinstallation. Improper installation may result in electric shocks or fire.
- Install the remote controller according to the installation manual. Improper installation may result in electric shocks or fire.
- Use only specified accessories and parts. Failure to do so may result in the controller falling, electric shocks, or fire.
- Install on a foundation that can withstand its mass. Insufficient strength may cause the controller to fall and cause injury.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed by qualified personnel according to applicable legislation and this manual, using a separate circuit. Use wiring with sufficient length; do not connect additional wiring. Insufficient power supply capacity or improper electrical construction may lead to electric shocks or fire.
- Turn off the power before installation. Touching live parts may cause electric shocks.
- Do not disassemble, reconstruct, or repair. Failure to do so may cause electric shock or fire.
- Ensure all wiring is secured with specified wirings and that external forces do not act on terminal connections. Improper connections or fixing may cause overheating or fire.
- Materials and installations must comply with applicable national and international standards.
Installation Location Precautions
- CAUTION: Install the remote controller in the living area.
- To avoid electric shocks from water or insects, fill the wiring through hole with putty.
- Do not operate with wet hands to avoid electric shocks.
- Do not wash the remote controller with water. Failure to do so may cause electric shock or fire.
- Install the air conditioner, power supply wiring, remote controller wiring, and transmission wiring at least 1 meter away from televisions or radios to prevent image interference or noise. (1 meter may not be sufficient depending on radio waves.)
- Do not install in the following locations:
- Where there is oil mist, oil spray, or vapor (e.g., kitchens). Resin parts may deteriorate and fall off.
- Where corrosive gas (e.g., sulphurous acid gas) is produced.
- Where machinery emits electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves may disturb the control system and cause malfunction.
- Where flammable gas may leak, or where carbon fibre, ignitable dust suspensions, or volatile flammables (thinner, gasoline) are handled. Operating in such conditions may result in fire.
- High temperature areas or near heat sources. May cause overheating or fire.
- Moist areas or places exposed to water. Water entering the controller may cause electrical component failure, leading to electric shocks or fire.
- Where atmospheric salt concentrations are high.
- When using the remote controller's thermostat sensor: Select the installation location considering the following:
- A place where the average room temperature can be detected.
- A place not exposed to direct sunlight.
- A place far from heat sources.
- A place not affected by outdoor air due to door opening/closing.
Maintenance
Maintaining the Unit and LCD Display
- Wipe the LCD and surface of the remote controller with a dry cloth when dirty.
- If dirt cannot be removed, soak a cloth in neutral detergent diluted with water, squeeze tightly, clean the surface, and wipe dry.
- Do not use non-neutral detergents or organic solvents (alcohol disinfectant, benzene, paint thinner, etc.). May cause cracking, electric shocks, or fire.
NOTICE: Do not use any paint thinner, organic solvent, or strong acid.
