This document provides instructions for the QTX U-MIC USB Dual Handheld UHF Wireless System.
Introduction
Thank you for choosing the U-MIC for your wireless microphone requirements. This system is designed to provide a reliable, cable-free solution with minimal setup and ease of use. Please read and keep this user manual to get the best results from your product and avoid damage through misuse.
Layout
The system comprises two handheld microphone transmitters and a USB receiver. The image shows the two microphones and the receiver unit. The microphones feature the QTX logo and a power/mute switch. The receiver unit has a USB Type-A plug for power input and a USB Type-A socket for connecting other devices.
Components:
- 1. LED power indicator
- 2. Power switch
- 3. Battery compartment
- 4. USB type A plug (on receiver)
- 5. 3.5mm audio output (on receiver)
- 6. USB type A socket (on receiver)
Setting up
The U-MIC is supplied as 2 individual handheld microphone transmitters and a USB receiver with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm jack lead.
Connect the USB Type-A plug (4) on the receiver to a USB port for power (5V, 1000mA). This can be a USB power adaptor or a power bank for portable use. An optional USB extension lead can also be used.
Note: The USB port is for power only; audio is not transmitted via USB.
If the USB port is a U-Disk player or computer port, a USB stick or other digital media device can still be connected through the receiver by using the USB Type-A socket (6) on the rear of the receiver.
Operation
The U-MIC receiver connects to a microphone input jack on a mixer or amplifier. Turn down the volume on the mixer/amplifier before connecting to prevent loud noises.
Connect the 3.5mm plug of the supplied lead into the USB receiver (5) and connect the 6.3mm plug to the appropriate microphone input jack on the mixer or amplifier.
Note: The output from both handheld transmitters is mixed to the single 3.5mm output.
Each handheld transmitter has an on/off switch (2). Ensure it is in the down (off) position. Unscrew the bottom battery compartment (3) and insert 2 x AA alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity.
Move the switch to the "on" position. The power indicator (1) should light briefly. If the LED remains lit constantly, the batteries are low and need replacement.
Gradually increase the volume on the mixer or amplifier and speak into the microphones. Adjust volume to the required level.
To mute either or both microphones temporarily, slide the on/off switch to the central "mute" position. This maintains the radio signal but silences the audio until the switch is returned to the "on" position.
For extended periods of non-use, turn down the volume on the connected mixer/amplifier and switch both microphones off.
For long-term storage, unplug the receiver and remove batteries from the transmitters.
