Diagram Descriptions
Mechanical Switch Operation: The flashlight features a mechanical side switch. Rotating this switch allows users to cycle through different modes: OFF, Low, Medium, High, Turbo, SOS, and Strobe. Rotating the switch to its rightmost position activates the Strobe mode.
Battery Replacement: To replace the battery, unscrew the light body and insert a new battery with the positive (+) anode side facing towards the light head. Then, screw the light body back on securely.
Output vs. Runtime Graph: A graph illustrates the flashlight's performance. It shows output lumens on the Y-axis and runtime in hours on the X-axis. Different modes (30LM, 350LM, 1000LM, 3000LM) are represented by distinct lines. The 3000LM mode demonstrates a high initial output that gradually decreases over approximately one hour due to built-in temperature regulation. Other modes maintain their output for longer durations.

Actual performance may vary based on environment and battery used. The Turbo output measurement includes time spent at reduced levels due to temperature protection.
WARNING
- Do not shine the flashlight directly into the eyes of anyone! ?
- If the information in this manual is updated, the new version supersedes older ones. Customers with older manuals are responsible for obtaining updated versions.
- Keep this flashlight out of the reach of children! ?
- Do not shine flammable objects at close range to avoid burns or danger from high temperatures. ?
- Avoid inappropriate use, such as biting the flashlight, to prevent personal injury or life threats if the flashlight or battery fails. ⚠️
- The flashlight shell can become very hot during operation; pay attention to safe use to prevent burns.
- To prevent accidental activation in closed or flammable environments (e.g., pockets, backpacks), turn off and lock the flashlight or remove the battery. ??
- The LED is not replaceable; the entire flashlight must be replaced when the LED reaches its end of lifespan.
Operating Instruction
On/off
Rotate the mechanical side switch clockwise to turn the light on. Rotate it to OFF to turn the light off.
Output Selection
Rotate the mechanical side switch to cycle through OFF, Low, Medium, High, Turbo, SOS, and Strobe modes. Rotate to the rightmost position to select Strobe output.

Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head. Then, screw the light body back on.
Charging
- Ensure the light is switched off. Plug the USB-A end of the charging cable into an appropriate AC powered USB adapter or port. Connect the USB Type-C end to the flashlight.
- The charging indicator will show red while charging and turn green when fully charged.
- Once charging is complete, unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.
- Only Low and Medium output modes are available during charging.
Notes:
- The normal charging time for the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery is approximately 3 hours from depleted to fully charged.
- To maintain optimal battery performance, recharge stored lights every four months.
Battery Level Indication
When the light is switched on, the battery level indicator near the charging port will light up for 3 seconds to show the battery status:
- Green light on: Saturated (100% - 85%)
- Green light flashes: Sufficient (85% - 50%)
- Red light on: Poor (50% - 25%)
- Red light flashes: Critical (25% - 1%)
Note: This feature is compatible only with the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 and ARB-L21-4000P batteries.
Intelligent Overheat Protection ??️
When the flashlight is used at high output levels for extended periods, it may accumulate significant heat. If the internal temperature reaches 60°C (140°F) or above, the flashlight will automatically reduce its output lumens to cool down. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the user can select higher modes again.
Low-Voltage Warning ⚡
When the battery voltage drops below a preset level, the flashlight is programmed to automatically downshift to a lower brightness level until it reaches the Low output. At this point, the battery level indicator will blink to remind the user to recharge or replace the battery.
Note: This feature is compatible only with the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 and ARB-L21-4000P batteries.
Usage and Maintenance ?️
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage and will void the warranty.
- Fully charge the light promptly to ensure readiness for the next use.
- Fenix recommends using high-quality batteries.
- If the flashlight will be stored for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent damage from electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
- To prevent accidental activation during storage or transport, unscrew the tail cap half a turn ↩️ or remove the battery.
- Over time, O-rings may wear. Replace worn O-rings with approved spares to maintain proper water sealing.
- Periodically cleaning battery contacts can improve performance. Dirty contacts may cause flickering, intermittent illumination, or failure to light up.
- Troubleshooting:
- A: Poor battery level. Solution: Replace or recharge the battery, ensuring correct insertion according to manufacturer specifications.
- B: Dirty threads, PCB board contacts, or other contacts. Solution: Clean contact points using a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. ?
- If issues persist after these steps, contact your authorized distributor.
