Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to prevent the risk of fire, electric shocks, burns, or other injuries or damages.
- Read all instructions before use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injuries to persons.
- Do not use outdoors or in a damp area.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- To disconnect the appliance, turn any control to "OFF", then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
- This appliance is for household use only.
- Do not touch the keep warm plate when the coffee maker is on.
- Scalding may occur if the top lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
- Never leave the empty carafe on the keep warm plate when the coffee maker is on. Otherwise the carafe is liable to crack.
- Do not set a hot container on a cold surface.
- Do not use a cracked container or a container having a loose or weakened handle.
- Do not clean container with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material.
- WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover on the appliance. No user serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done by authorized service personnel only.
Additional Safeguards:
- Do not operate appliance if the line cord shows any damage or if appliance works intermittently or stops working entirely.
- Extension Cords: A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).
- Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

Before First Use
- Remove packaging materials, labels and stickers from the coffee maker.
- Clean coffee maker thoroughly before using for the first time (see Cleaning section).
Note: To clear any residues in the coffee maker, fill the water tank to the maximum level with fresh water and run brew cycle. Repeat at least once.
Operating Instructions
Use the coffee maker
The coffee maker is only for brewing coffee.
- Open top lid (1). Rotate to open the filter basket (7).
- Remove the filter (6) and add ground coffee, then insert it into filter basket (7). Use of paper filter is optional.
- According to the chart below, use the measuring spoon to add ground coffee into the filter (6). Amounts can be adjusted according to taste.

1 cup = 5oz, 1 spoon = 5g ground coffee
- Open top lid (1). Fill carafe (10) with desired amount of water. Check the water level indicator (3) on the coffee maker. Pour water into the water tank (2). Rotate to close the filter basket (7). Close top lid (1). Place carafe (10) on keep warm plate (8).
- Insert power plug into a standard 120 VAC wall outlet. 12:00 flashes on the LCD display (13).
Set the clock
- Plug appliance into standard electrical outlet.
- The LCD display (13) flashes 12:00.
- To set the time: Press HOUR button (16) until correct hour appears on display.
- Press MIN button (17) to select minutes.
Note: If the appliance is unplugged or the power is interrupted even momentarily, the time will need to be reset.
Brewing coffee
- Press ON/OFF button (15). The BREW indicator will keep flashing and the brewing cycle begins (LCD display will show).
- When the brewing is finished, the BREW red indicator light stops flashing and keeps on. The Keep warm plate (8) will keep the coffee warm for two hours and the BREW red indicator light (19) will turn off when the appliance stops keep warm.
- When coffee grounds are cool, carefully remove and discard used grounds or paper filter.
- To turn off coffee maker at any time, press ON/OFF button (15), the BREW red indicator light (19) will turn off at the same time.
- Unplug appliance when not in use.
- Press tab on carafe lid (12) to pour coffee.
Extra features
- Remove the carafe and the brewing cycle will pause. The carafe must be placed back on the keep warm plate in 30 seconds to prevent overflow. Then the brewing cycle begins again.
- Cord storage on the bottom for easy storing of the power cord.
Set auto brew time
- Press PROG button (14). The PROG green indicator light (18) flashes several times. LCD display (13) shows the current time.
- Quickly press HOUR button (16) then MIN button (17) to select the time you would like automatic brewing to begin (for example, 7:15 A.M. Make sure the P.M. light is not on.)
- After 3 seconds, the PROG green indicator (18) stops flashing and becomes steady on (LCD display will show "AUTO"). The actual time on the LCD display (13) changes as the time goes by.
- Note: The program will not be saved automatically if you press PROG button (14) but no other button is operated within 5 seconds. The LCD display will show the clock time.
- To change or view program settings, press PROG button (14) again. The program start time will appear on the LCD display (13) and PROG green indicator (18) lights up for 5 seconds. Press HOUR button (16) then MIN button (17) to modify the program (Setting time).
- The PROG green indicator (18) stops flashing and becomes steady on. Brewing will start when the program start time is reached.
- To cancel Auto Brew function, press the PROG button (14) and hold for 3 seconds. The PROG green indicator (18) will turn off after flashing for 5 seconds ("AUTO" on the LCD display disappears).
- Note: When program function is running, the PROG indicator (18) will go out and the BREW indicator (19) will keep flashing and brewing begins (LCD display will show).
- Note: Program function will be deleted if you press the ON/OFF button (15).
- Note: Program function will be deleted if you unplug the coffee maker from the socket outlet.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
Make sure your coffee maker is unplugged and cooled.
- Rotate to open the filter basket. Discard used paper filter and coffee grounds.
- Wash filter basket, filter and carafe in dishwasher (top-rack) or by hand in hot, soapy water.
- Wipe outside of coffee maker, control panel and carafe plate with a soft, damp cloth.
- Note: Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads. Never immerse the coffee maker in water.
- To clean the inside of the cover, open the lid and leave it in the open position; wipe with a damp cloth.
Cleaning with Vinegar
Note: With regular use, minerals and hard water can clog your coffee maker. A full cleaning with vinegar is recommended once a month.
- Pour white vinegar into water tank to the 6-cup mark. Then add cold water to the 12-cup mark.
- Put a paper filter in brew basket and close the lid. Set empty carafe on the carafe plate.
- Turn on coffee maker. Let half the cleaning mixture brew into carafe. Turn off coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Turn on coffee maker again and brew remaining cleaning mixture into carafe. Turn off coffee maker; empty carafe and discard paper filter.
- Fill water tank with cold water to 12-cup mark; replace carafe on carafe plate and then turn on coffee maker for a complete brewing cycle to flush out remaining cleaning mixture. You may need to repeat this step to completely remove the vinegar smell/taste.
- Wash filter basket and carafe as instructed in CLEANING.
