SpiderENTRY S23 Access Control Keypad Installation Guide

Manufacturer: Spiderdoor

Owner/Manager Steps

Owners and managers can search app stores and download the "SpiderEntry Management App." This app allows remote control of gate access using the free managers app.

To begin, download the Managers App. You will need login credentials provided by a Spiderdoor team member. Search for the "Spiderentry Managers App" on your mobile device. This app enables managers to access their gates from anywhere.

Alternatively, you can log in on your desktop at https://app.spiderdoor.com/new_admin. This portal allows viewing of activity logs, tenant photos (on certain keypad models), and opening or latching gates remotely from the Spiderdoor dashboard.

ATTENTION - No Exceptions

Contact Spiderdoor's office 24 hours in advance of installation to ensure your access control system is successfully integrated with your management software. Failure to provide advance notice may result in the system not being fully operational for 24 hours after notification. Email support at Support@Spiderdoor.com.

Technical support for installations is available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM EST. Weekend technical support is not provided.

Installation Guide

Step 1: Unpack and Verify Contents

Unpack the box and ensure all items shown are present:

  • SpiderENTRY Keypad
  • Nuts & Bolts (for mounting)
  • 2 sets of Keys (for manager override)
  • Power Adapter (12-24 volts DC)

The Power Adapter is rated for 12-24 volts DC.

Step 2: Mount and Wire the Keypad

Unlock and open the front door of the unit to install and wire it. The door swings forward.

Closed position [Keypad shown in closed state]

Open position [Keypad shown in open state, revealing internal wiring]

Mount the keypad box to the pedestal using the four holes on the back of the box. Four bolts and four nuts are provided.

Ensure the CAT5 wire is pulled through the opening in the middle of the box.

WARNING: AUTOMATIC GATES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH! ALWAYS CHECK THAT THE GATE PATH IS CLEAR PRIOR TO OPENING! SAFETY REVERSING DEVICES SHOULD ALWAYS BE USED!

Step 3: Connect to Gate Motor Relay

The relay wire from your gate motor should connect to the green relay input labeled "GATE". This connection signals the gate to open when a valid code is entered.

[Diagram description: Shows a circuit board with a green terminal labeled "GATE". A wire is shown connecting from a gate motor to this terminal.]

Step 4: Connect Power

Connect the power supply to the green input labeled "GND / V+". This connection should be made using the supplied adapter to ensure the proper voltage.

Note: The keypad is designed to handle voltages between 12V and 24V only. Voltages outside this range are not supported. Improper power installation may void the warranty and damage the unit.

[Diagram description: Shows a circuit board with a green terminal labeled "GND / V+". Wires from a power adapter are shown connecting to this terminal.]

Step 5: Manager Override Key

The key switch on the side of the unit serves as a manager override. By turning the key clockwise a half turn, managers can physically open the gate.

This function bypasses the keypad's code entry and directly activates the gate motor to open and stay open. The gate will remain open until the key is turned back counterclockwise a half turn.

NOTE: If the override key is left turned clockwise during installation, the gate may remain in the open position.

[Diagram description: Shows the side of the keypad with a key inserted and turned. Text indicates "Managers Override Key" and "This switch will allow a manager to open the gate with a key."]

Step 6: Connect Magnetic Lock (Optional)

For walk-through doors using a magnetic lock, connect to the green input labeled "Mag Lock (N/C and common)".

Connect the magnetic lock wires to the normally closed (N/C) and common ports on the lock.

[Diagram description: Shows a circuit board with a green terminal labeled "Mag Lock". Wires are shown connecting to this terminal and then to a magnetic lock.]

Keypad Sound Codes:

ACTIVE CODE: A solid 4-second buzz indicates a successfully entered code.

INACTIVE CODE: Three short beeps signify that a code is inactive or invalid.
