3G-SDI Support (STORM 3G & STORM 3G Elite)

3G-SDI is a new standard for fast transfer of up to YCbCr 4:2:2/1080p/10-bit data.

  • Fast 3 Gb/s data transfer is possible over a single cable.
  • 75 Ohm coax cables used for SD/HD-SDI are supported, eliminating the need to invest in additional infrastructure.
  • Powerful 10-bit processing (1024 shades) provides images at four times the level of ordinary 8-bit processing (256 shades).

Provides a Rich I/O Environment (STORM 3G Elite)

Video I/O

Dual SDI interfaces for input and output via coax (BNC) cables, one analog component interface (up to 1080i, with separate input and output for Y/Pb/Pn), and one analog composite interface (input and output of SD only) ensure exceptional freedom in video input and output. The dual SDI interfaces can be used as two separate 3G-SDI lines (one line with HD and the other with high-quality SD, through hardware-based down-conversion).

Audio I/O

Four pairs of digital audio (AES/EBU) inputs and outputs are ready for connection to coax (BNC) cables, with four pairs of analog audio inputs and outputs for XLR connection. Another phantom-powered XLR interface enables switching between line-in and mic recording and is useful for voiceover.

Monitoring

HDMI input and output enables monitoring in full HD.

Reference

Analog audio interfaces for monitoring include both an XLR (L/R) and RCA. REF IN / REF through / REF OUT.

Other

Timecode port (IN/OUT) and a "connector lock" power cable connection, preventing accidental disconnection.
