Provided by Appliance Factory Parts
Introduction
This owner's manual provides essential information for the safe operation and maintenance of the MASTERCRAFT P41510DAF Hazardous Waste Dry & Wet/Dry Vacuum. This unit is intended for commercial use.
The vacuum is specifically designed to clean up hazardous dust using special filters to reduce airborne dust. Always follow safety instructions and procedures before operating.
Important Note: Any health hazards associated with the pickup of hazardous material using this unit have not been investigated by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
Intended Use
This unit is intended for commercial use as a hazardous waste dry & wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
Key Components and Filters
The vacuum system utilizes several key filters to ensure effective and safe operation:
- HEPA Filter: Certified absolute filter with a minimum efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 microns.
- 2-Ply Disposable Paper Filter Bag: Used for dry pickup, it contains the bulk of debris and protects other filters.
- 2-Ply Disposable Intermediate Filter: Made of fine non-woven material to extend the life of the HEPA filter.
- 6 Mil Poly Bag (OSHA Approved): Used for containing hazardous waste.

- For the benefit of your health, always wear gloves and an OSHA approved face mask when operating or cleaning this vacuum cleaner, especially when handling hazardous materials.
Dry Operation Instructions
Steel Tank Vacuum - Dry Operation
Unpacking the HEPA Vacuum
- Open carton and lift out the vacuum. Unsnap hold-down clamps, remove motor head, HEPA filter w/2-ply intermediate filter. Carefully set aside.
- Remove 2-ply intermediate filter, 2-ply disposable paper filter bags, 6 mil (OSHA Approved) poly bags, hose, and attachments from inside the vacuum tank.
HEPA Filter Assembly Installation
- Arrange a 6 mil poly bag in the bottom of the tank.
- Install a 2-ply disposable paper filter bag onto the inlet fitting, holding the cardboard ends and pulling it forward over the fitting, ensuring the cardboard is close to the tank's wall.
- Place the 2-ply intermediate filter on top of the tank, folding the edge over the outside of the tank, overlapping approximately one inch. (Note: On a new HEPA Vacuum, this filter is pre-installed on the HEPA filter).
- Insert the HEPA filter, ensuring the 2-ply intermediate filter is not disturbed. The HEPA filter's sealing gasket must sit evenly on the tank's rim for an airtight seal.
- Replace the motor head assembly on top of the HEPA filter, seating it on the vacuum tank, and re-snap hold-down clamps.
Poly Tank Vacuum - Dry Operation
Unpacking the HEPA Vacuum
Poly hazardous vacuums are shipped in 2 cartons and require a HEPA adaptor for dry or wet operation.
- Open the larger carton and remove the vacuum.
- Unsnap the hold-down clamps, and lift off the motor head, pancake dry filter, and carefully set aside.
- Unpack the 2-ply disposable bag, 6 mil (OSHA Approved) poly bag, attachments, and hose from inside the tank.
- Unpack the second carton and remove the HEPA adaptor and HEPA filter w/2-ply intermediate filter installed.
- Firmly grasp speed pins on each side of the handle and pull up and out. Slowly pull the handle away from the tank, aligning front handle holes with holes in the handle bracket.
- Insert speed pins through holes on both sides to lock the handle in position.
HEPA Filter Assembly Installation
- Arrange a 6 mil poly bag in the bottom of the vacuum tank.
- Set the pancake filter on the tank, being careful not to move the 2-ply intermediate filter.
- Place the conversion adaptor on top of the pancake filter and engage hold-down clamps.
- Insert the HEPA filter. The HEPA filter's sealing gasket must sit evenly on the tank's rim for an airtight seal.
- Replace the motor head assembly on top of the HEPA filter, seating it on the tank, and re-snap hold-down clamps.
Wet Operation Instructions
Steel Tank Vacuum - Wet Operation
To use this vacuum for wet pickup, you must install the wet pickup conversion kit. This kit is shipped with the vacuum if ordered for wet and dry operation. Otherwise, order the Wet HEPA Conversion Kit.
Wet HEPA Conversion Adaptor Installation:
- Carefully remove motor head, HEPA filter, 2-ply intermediate filter, and set aside.
- Remove 6 mil poly bag and disposable paper bag if present in the tank. (Refer to page 4 for removing loaded bags).
- Set the wet pickup adaptor on the tank's rim.
- Set the HEPA adaptor on top of the wet pickup adaptor and snap down hold-down clamps.
- Follow Installation Instructions for HEPA Filter Assembly above (Steps 3, 4, and 5).
To order a Wet HEPA Conversion Kit: Use Part No 399205 for 14" vacuum and Part No 394505 for 16" vacuum. The kit includes a HEPA adaptor, wet pickup adaptor, and squeegee tool.
Poly Tank Vacuum - Wet Operation
For wet pickup, the pancake dry filter is replaced with a wet pickup adaptor. Wet/dry models are shipped with the wet pickup adaptor and squeegee tool. If your unit was ordered for dry pickup only, order a Wet Conversion Kit (PN 305987).
- Carefully remove motor head, HEPA filter w/2-ply intermediate filter, HEPA adaptor, and pancake dry filter. Set aside.
- Remove the disposable paper bag and 6 mil poly bag from the tank. (Refer to page 4 for removing loaded bags).
- Set the wet pickup adaptor on the tank's rim.
- Set the HEPA adaptor on top of the wet pickup adaptor and snap down hold-down clamps.
- Place the 2-ply intermediate filter on the conversion adaptor, folding edges over the outside, overlapping approximately one inch.
- Insert the HEPA filter. The HEPA filter's sealing gasket must sit evenly on the tank's rim for an airtight seal.
- Replace the motor head assembly on top of the HEPA filter, seating it on the tank, and re-snap hold-down clamps.
CAUTION: Always unplug the vacuum from the power source before changing filters.
When to Change Filters
HEPA Filter: Replace when loss of vacuum continues after checking hose or wand for obstructions. Install a new 2-ply disposable paper filter bag and 2-ply intermediate filter.
- 14" Vac - Reorder Part No 382507
- 16" Vac - Reorder Part No 382515
