How To Use Advanced Functions

Swing function

Press the SWING button. The horizontal louver will swing up and down. Press again to stop. Holding the SWING button for over 2 seconds activates vertical louver swing (model dependent).

Airflow direction

Pressing the SWING button repeatedly allows selection of five different airflow directions. The louver moves to a new angle with each press. Continue pressing until the desired setting is reached.

NOTE: When the unit is off, press and hold MODE and DOWN buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to access panel setting mode (display shows F2). Use UP/DOWN buttons to raise/lower the air intake panel for filter maintenance. Press any button to exit. Refer to the Care & Maintenance section for details.

LED Display

Press the LED button to turn the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on or off (model dependent).

Press and hold the LED button for over 5 seconds (some units) to display the actual room temperature. Press and hold again to revert to the set temperature display.

ECO/GEAR function

Pressing the ECO/GEAR button cycles through energy efficiency modes: ECO, GEAR (75%), GEAR (50%), Previous setting mode.

  • ECO operation: In COOL mode, if the set temperature is below 75°F (24°C), the unit adjusts the temperature to 75°F (24°C) and sets fan speed to AUTO to save energy. If the set temperature is above 75°F (24°C), the fan speed changes to AUTO, and the temperature remains unchanged.
  • NOTE: ECO operation stops if the ECO/GEAR button is pressed again, the mode is changed, or the set temperature is adjusted below 75°F (24°C). For insufficient cooling under ECO operation, press the ECO button again to turn it off.
  • GEAR operation: Selects up to 75% or 50% electrical energy consumption. The display alternates between energy consumption and set temperature.

Silence function

Pressing the FAN button for over 2 seconds activates/deactivates the Silence function (some units). This function may result in reduced cooling/heating capacity due to low-frequency compressor operation. Pressing ON/OFF, MODE, SLEEP, TURBO, or CLEAN cancels Silence mode.

FP function

For heat pump units: Press the button twice within one second while in HEAT Mode. The temperature sets to 60°F (16°C) or 68°F (20°C) (model dependent), activating FP function for faster heating. This function uses high fan speed and the lowest temperature setting (46°F/8°C) for faster cooling. Pressing ON/OFF, SLEEP, MODE, FAN, or Temperature buttons cancels FP mode.

LOCK function

Press CLEAN and TURBO buttons simultaneously for over 5 seconds to activate LOCK. No buttons will respond until both are pressed again for 2 seconds to disable LOCK.

Clean Function (some units)

Press the CLEAN button to start/stop the Self-Clean or Active Clean function. This function cleans the unit automatically to remove moisture, dust, mold, and grease, improving efficiency. After cleaning, the unit turns off. Pressing CLEAN mid-cycle cancels the operation. This function is available only in COOL or DRY mode.

TURBO Function

Press the TURBO button. In COOL mode, the unit blows cool air at the highest fan setting for faster cooling. In HEAT mode, it blows warm air at the highest fan setting for faster heating (some units), or activates electric heaters if equipped.

SET function

Press the SET button to enter function settings. Use SET, TEMP UP (&and#8593;), or TEMP DOWN (&and#8595;) to select a function (e.g., Breeze Away (&star-symbol;), Active Clean (&wind-blowing-symbol;), Follow Me (&person-symbol;), AP Mode (&wifi-symbol;)). The selected symbol flashes; press OK to confirm and activate. Repeat to cancel.

  • Breeze Away function (&star-symbol;): Keeps airflow from blowing directly on occupants. Available in COOL, FAN, and DRY modes.
