Automotive Diagnostic Tool

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the TOPDON ArtiDiag900 Lite automotive diagnostic tool. This quick user guide provides basic setup and operation instructions. For comprehensive details, please refer to the full user manual available at www.topdon.com/products/artidiag900-lite.

Device Components

The ArtiDiag900 Lite system includes the following components:

  • 1. Eight-Inch Touch Screen: The main display and input interface.
  • 2. Reset Button: Used for system resets.
  • 3. Power Button: To turn the device on/off.
  • 4. 3.5 mm Audio Port: For audio output.
  • 5. RJ45 Port: Ethernet connection.
  • 6. USB Type-A Port: For connecting peripherals or data transfer.
  • 7. 12V DC Power Supply Input Port: Connects to vehicle power or charger.
  • 8. HDMI Port: For external display output.
  • 9. USB Type-C Port: For data and charging.
  • 10. Screenshot Button: Captures screen images.
  • 11. Mic: Integrated microphone.
  • 12. TF Card Expansion Slot: For additional storage.
  • 13. VCI Slot: Connects to the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) module.
  • 14. Camera Lens: Built-in camera.
  • 15. Audio Speaker: Built-in speaker.
  • 16. Collapsible Stand: For propping up the tablet.

VCI Module Status & Connection

The VCI module connects your tablet to the vehicle's diagnostic system. Its status is indicated by LED lights:

  • Flashing Green: Vehicle communication active. ?
  • Solid Red: Device powered on. ?
  • Solid Blue: Bluetooth connection established. ?

The VCI module features:

  • USB Type-C Port: For wired connection and data.
  • OBD-II 16 Pin Connector: Plugs directly into the vehicle's diagnostic port.

Getting Started

Follow these steps to set up your ArtiDiag900 Lite:

  1. Register & Log In: Power on the ArtiDiag900 Lite tablet and log in to your TOPDON account. If you don't have an account, register using your email address.
  2. Connect VCI to Vehicle: Plug the ArtiDiag900 Lite VCI into the vehicle's OBD-II Data Link Connector (DLC), typically located under the dashboard.
  3. Turn Ignition to "ON": Set the vehicle's ignition switch to the "ON" position.
  4. Bind the ArtiDiag900 Lite VCI:
    1. On the tablet, navigate to User Info > VCI Management.
    2. Tap the [+] icon (Add VCI) in the top right corner. The device will prompt you to connect the VCI via Bluetooth.
    3. Connect the VCI to your tablet via Bluetooth as instructed. The serial number and activation code will be automatically retrieved (see Figure 1).
    4. Tap "Activate" to complete the VCI binding process.
  5. Connect VCI to Tablet: The ArtiDiag900 Lite VCI can connect to the tablet wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired via a USB cable (see Figure 2).
    • ✅ Bluetooth Connection: VCI successfully connected via Bluetooth.
    • ✅ USB Cable Connection: VCI successfully connected via USB cable.
  6. Ready for Use: Your TOPDON ArtiDiag900 Lite is now ready for operation.
