Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the Homcloud 3 Gang Wi-Fi Switch Module (AS-SM3N - QS-WIFI-S04-3C). This module transforms traditional wall switches into Wi-Fi controlled switches, allowing operation via smartphone or traditional switches.

Important Note: The app only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). For configuration, both the device and the mobile phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Installation Warnings

• Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.
• Keep the device out of reach of children.
• Keep the device away from water, damp, or hot environments.
• Install the device away from strong signal sources (e.g., microwave ovens) that may cause signal interruption and abnormal operation.
• Avoid obstructions like concrete walls or metallic materials, as they can reduce the effective operation range.
• Do NOT attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device.

Wiring Diagrams

The module connects to the mains power and the connected load. Traditional switches connect to the S1, S2, and S3 terminals.

Diagram 1: Used with a normal switch

Connections:

• N (Neutral) terminal to Neutral wire.
• L (Live) terminal to Live wire.
• L1, L2, L3 terminals to the Live output for each switch.
• S1, S2, S3 terminals to the corresponding terminals of the traditional 3-gang wall switch.
• Reset Key: A dedicated reset button on the module.

Connections:

Download and Registration

1. Download the HomCloud App from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the provided QR code ([QR Code for App Download]).
2. Open the App and navigate to the register/login interface.
3. Register an account using your country area code and phone number or email address.
4. Enter the verification code received via email or text message.
5. Set a password (6-20 alphanumeric characters).
6. Click "Create Family" to enter the App.

Configuration

1. Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and launch the HomCloud App.
2. Refer to the "Wiring Instructions" if not yet done.
3. Put the module into pairing mode:
   • Press the traditional switches connected to the module ON-OFF-ON-OFF at least 5 times (with approximately 1-second intervals) until the indicator light on the module flashes quickly.
   • Alternatively, press and hold the reset key for at least 10 seconds until the indicator light flashes quickly.
   • If the indicator light flashes slowly, repeat the pairing mode activation.
4. Keep your smartphone close to the switch module (approx. 30cm).
5. On the HomCloud App homepage, tap "Add Device" or the [+] icon.
6. Select "Wi-Fi switch module" from the device list.
7. Confirm that the module indicator light is flashing rapidly on the App.
8. Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
9. Wait for the configuration to complete (this may take 10-120 seconds depending on network conditions).
10. Tap "Done" upon successful configuration.
11. Optionally, rename the device and assign it to a room.

Integration with Google Home and Amazon Alexa

Control your Homcloud devices with voice commands by integrating with Google Home or Amazon Alexa.

1. Download and install the Google Home or Amazon Alexa App.
2. To link HomCloud App, select "Smart Life" from the list of partners within the Google Home or Alexa App.
3. You will be automatically directed to the HomCloud App for authentication.
4. Note: You do not need to download the "Smart Life" App separately.

FAQ

Q1: Which products can I control with the device?

You can control all types of lights and electrical products that comply with the device's specifications.

Q2: What happens if the Wi-Fi goes off?

You can still control the connected device using your traditional wall switch. Once Wi-Fi is active again, the device will automatically reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Q3: What should I do if I change the Wi-Fi network or password?

You need to reconnect the module to the new Wi-Fi network. Follow the steps in the App User Manual for re-configuration.

Q4: How do I reset the device?

Press the traditional switches connected to the module ON-OFF-ON-OFF at least 5 times (one time per second), or power on/off the device 5 times, until the indicator light on the module flashes quickly.
