For United States: Cautions to the user
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B Digital Device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communication. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
Sangean suggests that you keep your AC Adapter at least 12 inches away from the radio while listening to the AM Band. Your Sangean Radio is powered by an AC adapter which is a “switching” or “switch mode” type. The DOE (Department Of Energy) has a Federal mandate; requiring all manufacturers to use this type of power supply. This newer power saving technology has the unfortunate side effect of causing interference to the AM radio band. Therefore, we recommend that customers keep at least a 1 foot distance between the AC adapter and the radio. This interference will not affect the FM Band. If you have any questions please contact customer service at (888)726-4326, (562)941-9900 or service@sangean.com.
If an AC adapter isn’t included in this model and if you wish to purchase an AC Adapter separately, please refer to the specifications for the AC Adapter stated on the final page of the manual, or please contact Sangean for the correct AC Adapter and specifications. To learn more about the DOE mandate please visit http://www1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/appliance_standards/product.aspx/productid/23.
Please note not all AC adapters are alike. The AC adapter that is included with this radio is designed to be used exclusively with this device. Do not use an AC adapter that differs from the specifications on the AC adapter that is included. If an AC adapter is NOT included with your radio and in order not to damage the unit and void your warranty, specifications for the AC Adapter are stated on the final page of the manual, or please contact Sangean for the correct AC Adapter and specifications. For customers in the US and Canada, please call 562-941-9900 or 888-726-4326. For all other areas, please contact us via contact@sangean.com. Do not use an AC adapter that does not meet the correct specifications.

Powering and Charging the Radio
The SG-112 is powered by the supplied 850mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Before first use, ensure the battery is fully charged.
Inserting the Supplied Rechargeable Battery
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit by pushing the battery door following the arrow direction.
- Insert the supplied rechargeable battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity as shown.
Charging the Radio
Use one of the following methods to charge your radio:
Using the DC IN Socket (USB-C)
Connect a USB power source (5V / 0.5A recommended) to the radio's USB-C DC IN socket. Signs that the battery needs recharging include reduced power, audio distortion, stuttering sounds, or a flashing low battery icon on the display. Connect the USB-C end of the supplied cable to the radio and the USB-A end to a power source (PC, USB charger, power bank). A charging animation will appear on the display, and the charging indicator will light up. Charging time is approximately 2 hours for a full charge, providing about 10 hours of playback.
Using Dynamo Power
Ensure the telescopic antenna is in the rest position. Take the Dynamo power handle from its rest position and rotate it at approximately 120 rotations per minute (clockwise or counter-clockwise) until the charging LED indicator turns red. One minute of dynamo charging provides approximately 5-7 minutes of listening time (AM band, moderate volume).
Using Solar Power
Position the radio so the solar panel receives direct sunlight. Adjust the position for maximum brightness of the CHARGE indicator LED. It takes approximately 15 hours of direct sunlight for a full charge. The solar panel is a supplementary source; it will not charge under artificial light. Do not attempt to charge under sun-lamps, as this can cause irreversible damage.
Radio Operation
Note: The SG-112 features a 90-minute auto shut-off. Press and hold the power button for about 0.5 seconds to turn on; the auto shut-off icon will appear. To disable it, hold the power button slightly longer until the icon disappears. Turn off by pressing the power button for about 0.5 seconds.
Setting the Clock
You can set the clock with the radio on or off. After charging, the display shows (- : --). Press and hold the BAND / TIME SET button until the hour blinks. Use Tuning UP/Down to select the hour, then press BAND / TIME SET again. The minute indicator will blink; use Tuning UP/Down to select minutes. Press BAND / TIME SET again to complete. The time will display with a blinking colon.
Tuning the Radio
Seek Tuning
Turn on the radio, select the desired band using the BAND button. Press and hold the Tuning UP/Down button for about 0.5 seconds to seek the next active station. Repeat until the desired station is found.

- When 'M' blinks with the previous preset frequency, use Tuning UP/Down to select the desired memory position.
- Press PRESET again to complete the setting. 'P' and the preset position will appear briefly.
This radio supports up to 19 preset memories for AM/FM.
Recalling Stations
- Turn on the radio, press PRESET to enter preset mode. The display shows the last preset station.
- Use Tuning UP/Down to select the desired preset station.
- Press and release PRESET to exit preset mode.
Volume Control
Press the Volume Control Buttons (+ / -) to adjust the sound level.
Changing AM/FM Tuning Steps
To change tuning steps (e.g., 9kHz/10kHz for AM, varies for FM):
- With the radio OFF, press and hold PRESET for approx. 2 seconds. The display shows software version, then blinks the FM tuning step (e.g., 100 kHz). Use Tuning UP/DOWN to cycle between 100 and 50 kHz. Press PRESET to confirm.
- The display then blinks the AM tuning step (e.g., 10 kHz). Use Tuning UP/Down to cycle between 10 and 9 kHz. Press PRESET to confirm.
- The radio defaults to clock mode when off after resetting tuning steps.
Note: Resetting AM tuning steps will erase all preset AM stations. Resetting FM tuning steps will not erase preset FM stations.
Weather Band and Alerts
Listening to the Weather Band
- Turn on the radio and press the BAND button to cycle through AM / FM / WX (Weather Band).
- In WX mode, use Tuning UP/Down to select the desired Weather Band channel.

Activating the Weather Alert: You can set the alert when the radio is on or off. Press and hold the WX ALERT button until the display shows "WX ALERT". After the alert broadcast, the siren activates for 15 seconds, then plays the selected weather channel. During the siren, the WX ALERT indicator and LED Flashlight will blink. Press any button (except Flashlight) to stop the siren and play the broadcast. The WX ALERT LED will continue blinking for about an hour until acknowledged by pressing any button (except Flashlight). To cancel, press and hold the WX ALERT button until the display shows "OFF".
