Product Overview

The Truper 102141 PROVO-2 is a non-contact voltage tester designed to detect live electrical circuits without direct contact.

Important Safety Information

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: This product must not be exposed to dripping or splashing by liquids.

⚠️ ATTENTION: READ THESE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

Battery Assembly

To assemble the battery:

  • Open the cover by pressing the button on the top of the clip and slide the top and bottom sections of the tester apart.
  • Remove old batteries and insert two new AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity as shown in the diagram.
  • Engage the two housing sections and slide them together until the clip clicks into place.

Description of Diagram: The process involves pressing a button on the clip to open the tester, separating it into two parts. New batteries are inserted, observing the '+' and '-' terminals. The two parts are then rejoined until they lock.

Operating Instructions

Manual Operation

  • Test Run: Perform a test by pressing the power button and bringing the tip close to an energized contact. The LED will illuminate and a buzzer will sound.
  • Power/LED Button:
    • Press the LED button once to turn on the tester. A short beep will sound, and the green LED will light up.
    • Press again to turn on the lamp.
    • Press once more to turn off the lamp.
    • Press and hold for one second to turn off the tester.
  • Live Detection: Bring the probe close to live parts; the red LED will turn on.
  • Alerts: When the green LED turns off, an alert will sound. A higher frequency of alerts indicates a stronger electric field, allowing the user to distinguish between null and live lines via sound and light alarms.
  • Automatic Shutdown: The tester automatically shuts down after 2 minutes of inactivity to save power.
  • Low Battery Indicator: When the battery is low, the green LED will not illuminate, the detector will not operate, and the buzzer will emit a faint sound.

Specifications

  • Operating Voltage: 3 V d.c. (Requires 2 x AAA Carbon-Zinc 1.5 V d.c. batteries, included)
  • Ambient Temperature and Humidity: 10 °C - 50 °C; < 95% relative humidity
  • Storage Temperature: -10 °C - 50 °C
  • Sensing Range: 90 V~ - 1000 V~ (Standby current after power off ≤ 1 µA)

Functions

  • Evaluate neutral and live lines on a.c.
  • Detect magnetic field.
  • Illumination function (LED lamp).
  • Automatic shutdown in 2 minutes.
  • Sound and light alarm.

Warnings

  • Never use in circuits with voltages higher than 1000 V.
  • Test voltage range: 90 V~ - 1000 V~.
