About Your Thermostats
BAC-1000 series Modern Round Touch Screen Room Thermostats are designed to control the temperature of fan coil units and motorized valves in HVAC systems. They aim to provide comfort and save energy.

Before Wiring and Installing
CAUTION: Electrical Shock or Equipment Damage Hazard. Can shock individuals or short equipment circuitry.
Installer must be a trained, experienced service technician.
Wiring
Refer to the wiring diagram for connecting the thermostat to the fan coil unit, motorized valve, and power supply. Terminals are labeled for AC Power (N, L), Fan (High, Med, Low), and Valve control.

Installation
- Keep the electricity off.
- Mount the wall plate.
- Connect power supply and load to the appropriate terminals.
- Install the thermostat onto the wall plate.
Home Screen Quick Reference
During Power On:
- Power On/off: Press to turn the thermostat on/off.
- Manual & Programmable Mode Selection: Press and hold 'M' until it flashes. Press 'M' to select manual mode, and press again to select weekly programmable mode.
- Temperature Setting (Manual Mode): In manual mode, press '▲' or '▼' to set the desired temperature.
- System Mode Selection: Press 'M' to cycle through HEATING, COOLING, and VENTILATION modes. In VENTILATION mode, the valve is off, but the fan runs.
- Fan Speed Selection: Press '▲' or '▼' to select fan speed: AUTO, HIGH, MED, LOW.
- Locking Your Thermostat: Press and hold '▲' for 5 seconds to lock/unlock the thermostat.
During Power Off:
- Press and hold 'M' to enter settings. Press 'M' to cycle through different items. Use '▲' or '▼' to adjust values.
Operation
Weekly Programmable Mode Setup:
- Press and hold 'M' to enter the weekly programmable setup. 'Weekday' will flash.
- Press 'M' to cycle through minute, hour, and temperature settings for each period.
- Use '▲' or '▼' to adjust the values.
- Weekday Schedule (Monday-Friday): 6 periods with specific times and temperatures (e.g., Period 1: 06:00, 20°C; Period 2: 08:00, 15°C; etc.).
- Weekend Schedule (Saturday & Sunday): Similar 6 periods with specific times and temperatures.
- Press 'M' to confirm and exit.
Display Mode Settings:
- Code 00: Display both set temperature and room temperature.
- Code 01: Display set temperature only.
Energy Saving Mode Settings:
- Code 00: Non-energy saving mode.
- Code 01: Energy saving mode. Set temperature will maintain the economy temperature.
Fan Control Settings:
- Code 00: Fan turns off when room temperature reaches the set point.
- Code 01: Fan turns to low speed when room temperature reaches the set point.
Restore Manufacturer Defaults:
- Access via the app: Open app -> Go into your room -> Click menu (top right) -> Scroll to the end -> Press 'Restore Manufacturer Defaults'.
- Alternatively, during power off, press and hold 'M' to enter settings, then press 'M' to cycle through items until the reset option appears, and use '▲' or '▼' to confirm.
Wi-Fi Connection
Before using your Wi-Fi thermostat for the first time, configure Wi-Fi settings via your smartphone or tablet.
Step 1: Download Your APP
Search for "Smartlife" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or scan the provided QR code. Complete account registration and installation following the app's guidance.
Step 2: Connect the Thermostat
Method 1: Scan QR Code to Configure Network
Follow the on-screen prompts in the app, which may involve connecting to the thermostat's Wi-Fi hotspot.
Method 2: Ordinary Distribution Network Guidance
EZ Mode:
- When the thermostat is off, press and hold the 'Wi-Fi' icon (often represented by a signal symbol) until the thermostat screen flashes quickly and displays the 'Wi-Fi' icon.
- Follow the app instructions, which may involve selecting your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and entering the password. Ensure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz network if you have a dual-band router.
AP Mode:
- When the thermostat is off, press and hold the 'Wi-Fi' icon until the thermostat screen flashes slowly and displays the 'Wi-Fi' icon.
- Follow the app instructions to connect your phone to the thermostat's hotspot (e.g., "SmartLife-XXXX"), then return to the app to continue the device adding process.
Important Notes:
- Ensure the device is powered on during the connection process.
- If your Wi-Fi is 5GHz, set it to 2.4GHz for initial setup.
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone to help add Wi-Fi devices.
APP Operation Interface Description (FCU Thermostat)
The app interface allows for various controls and settings:
- Thermostat Name: Modify the name of the thermostat.
- Room Temp.: Displays the current room temperature.
- Set Temp.: Allows setting the desired temperature.
- Fan Speed: Control fan speed (High, Med., Low, Auto).
- Mode: Select operating mode (Heating, Cooling, Ventilation).
- Button Lock: Activate or deactivate the button lock feature.
- Energy Saving: Enable or disable energy-saving features.
- Adjust Temp.: Fine-tune temperature settings.
- View the virtual ID of the thermostat.
- Connect smart voice audio guide: Link with voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant.
- Share Device: Share control with family members.
- Create Group: Group multiple thermostats for management.
- Device Offline Notification: Receive alerts when the device is offline.
- Add to home screen: Create a shortcut for quick access.
- Check Device Network: Verify the thermostat's network status.
- Device Update: Check for and install firmware updates.
- Remove Device: Remove the thermostat from the app.
