Ikan PT4900S-PEDESTAL Quick Start Guide

19" SDI Teleprompter, Pedestal & Dolly Turnkey

Overview

Ikan's Turnkey Broadcast Solutions provide a complete setup for professional camera operations. This solution includes a 19" teleprompter, a pedestal, and a dolly, all tested for payload compatibility.

The system offers a remaining payload capacity of up to 38.8 lbs after mounting the 19" teleprompter. The pedestal alone can support camera setups up to 61.7 lbs. The package includes a hard case for the pedestal and a carrying bag for the dolly.

What's Included

Teleprompter Assembly Setup

Step 1

Place the Hood Attachment Frame over the Glass Holder. Position the glass against the Glass Holder, ensuring screws pass through the holes on both the Hood Attachment Frame and the Glass Holder.

Step 2

Secure the Glass Holder by fastening the knurled nuts to the screws as shown in the diagram.

Step 3

Remove the monitor mounts from the teleprompter base using the included 4mm hex key to loosen them from the 15mm rods.

Step 4

Place washers onto the screws before tightening. Washers and four additional screws are provided in a bag on the bottom foam.

Step 5

Attach the monitor mounts. Adjust the 15mm rods to accommodate the monitor, leaving approximately 1 inch of space for the teleprompter bracket. Ensure the 15mm rods pass through both sets of monitor mounts and that all screws are tightened after inserting the monitor. SAFETY NOTE: Ensure at least 2 inches of the rods remain inside the teleprompter base.

Step 6

While sliding the teleprompter bracket into the slot of the Glass Frame Holder Bracket, pull the red knob to allow the bracket to slide in fully.

Step 7

Once the bracket is in place, tighten the side screw to lock it. Double-check that all screws are tightened using the included hex keys.

Step 8

Fold the flaps of the Hood alongside the edges of the Hood Attachment Frame. The hood flaps are magnetic and will attach automatically.

Step 9

To prevent light leakage through the hood, seal both zippers down.

Step 10

Slide the Riser plate of your choice onto the Base by aligning the screws on the riser plate with the slots on the Base. Once aligned, slide the riser plate into the Base.

Step 12

Mount your tripod plate to the bottom plate using the 1/4-20 and/or 3/8-16 screws. It is recommended to attach the tripod plate to the front of the Bottom Plate for easier balancing. Once connected, mount the tripod plate to your tripod head.

Step 13

Slide the entire teleprompter system into the Bottom Plate. Balance the system by sliding it along the Bottom Plate until the center of gravity is determined.

Step 14

Once the center of gravity is determined, tighten the thumb screws to secure the base and prevent sliding.

Step 15

To secure your teleprompter system, insert the included headless screws into the threads located behind and in front of the Base.

Step 16

Insert the headless screws into the threads as pictured.
