Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Range Brochure
The vacuum cleaner that doesn't lose suction.
Dyson Engineered and Tested
Over 1,000 Dyson engineers and scientists in Britain, Singapore, and Malaysia are dedicated to inventing and improving Dyson machines. They are drawn from a broad spectrum of disciplines including electrical engineering, fluid dynamics, design, testing, robotics, software, materials, motors, aerodynamics, and more. Every member of the Dyson Research, Design, and Development team is an expert in their field, taking pride in ensuring Dyson machines outperform others and are built to last.
James Dyson, inventor of cyclone vacuum technology, states: "2 Tier Radial™ cyclones are the latest development of our patented cyclone technology. By making the cyclones smaller, the centrifugal forces inside are increased. This means we can capture even more microscopic dust in the bin, the very dust which makes others lose suction."

Over 35 Years of Invention
[Image: A visual timeline showcasing Dyson's product and technology evolution from 1974 to 2012. Key milestones include: 1974 - Ballbarrow; 1993 - Dual Cyclone™ technology and DC01; 1995 - Barrel vacuum cyclone development; 2001 - Radix Cyclone™ technology; 2005 - Ball™ technology (DC15); 2006 - Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer; 2008 - Radix Cyclone™ technology with intermediary cyclone; 2009 - Dyson digital motor and Air Multiplier™ fan; 2010 - Dyson Digital Slim™ vacuum; 2011 - Dyson Hot+Cool™ fan heater and steering mechanism for barrel vacuums; 2012 - Mini tangle-free turbine tool and 2 Tier Radial™ cyclones.]
Dyson machines have received various design awards, including the Carbon Reduction Label and Good Design™ awards.
Core Technologies
Cyclone Technology: No Loss of Suction
Other vacuum cleaners lose suction because their cyclones are inefficient, or their filters and bags clog with dust. Dyson's patented cyclone technology generates forces up to 360,000G to separate microscopic particles from the airflow, ensuring no loss of suction.

2 Tier Radial™ Cyclones
This advanced system features two tiers of cyclones working in parallel to increase airflow and capture more microscopic dust than any other vacuum. Key components include:
- Outer cyclone: Captures larger debris and hair.
- Inner cyclones: Extract microscopic particles down to 0.5 microns, including mould spores and bacteria.
- Vortex fingers: Guide airflow, reducing turbulence and noise.
- Shroud: Directs airflow for efficient capture.
- Cyclone gaskets: Airtight seals maintain pressure.
- Self-inflating seal: Maintains pressure difference in cyclone chambers.
- Finite element analysis: Reduces weight without compromising robustness.

Ball™ Technology
Dyson Ball™ vacuums offer superior maneuverability. The ball houses the motor, polycarbonate air ducts, and cable, lowering the center of gravity for easy control. This technology allows the vacuum to turn on the spot [? 360° rotation emoji], making it easy to steer around furniture and obstacles without awkward moves. Axle bearings ensure smooth rotation, and vibration isolation mounts reduce noise and vibration.

Advanced Cleaner Head Technology
Dyson cleaner heads are engineered for optimal dirt pick-up across all floor types. Features include:
- Self-adjusting cleaner head / Active base plate: Automatically adjusts its height to maintain optimal contact with carpets and hard floors, reducing air leaks and retaining suction. [Image: Diagram showing the active base plate lowering on hard floors and rising on carpet.]
- Carbon fibre brush bar: Ultra-fine anti-static carbon fibre filaments remove fine dust from hard floors, while stiff nylon bristles tackle ground-in dirt on carpets.
- Musclehead™ tool: Self-adjusts to floor types and has a low profile for cleaning under furniture. [Image: Musclehead™ tool demonstrating self-adjustment on different surfaces.]
- Triggerhead tool: Turbine head activated at the handle for convenience. [Image: Hand holding the handle of a vacuum, showing the trigger control for the brush bar.]
Dyson Digital Motor
Dyson's digital motors are smaller, faster (up to 104,000 rpm), and more power-efficient than conventional motors. They provide the power needed for high suction and fade-free battery performance in cordless models.
Choosing the Right Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
Consider these factors when selecting a vacuum:
- Type of clean: Main clean (barrel/upright), quick cleans (handstick), spot cleans (handheld). [Icon: Vacuum cleaner and broom]
- Ease of use: Ball™ technology for maneuverability, brush bar control, high-reach wands.
- Type of floor: Different heads for carpets, hard floors, and mixed surfaces.
- Size of house: Full-size for family homes [Icon: Large house], medium for villas/apartments [Icon: Medium house], compact for studios [Icon: Small house].
- Pet hair removal: Specific tools and powerful suction for pet owners. [Icon: Dog and cat]
- Allergy sufferers: HEPA filtration and cyclone technology to capture allergens. All Dyson uprights and barrels are accepted by the National Asthma Council Australia. [Icon: Pollen and dust mite]
