Component Descriptions:

1.3 Processor

The motherboard supports 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, Intel® Pentium® Gold / Celeron® processors with LGA1700 socket. Ensure correct installation to avoid damage. Refer to the manual for processor installation steps.

1.4 System Memory

The motherboard features 4 DDR4 DIMM slots. Supports dual-channel memory configuration. Refer to the manual for memory installation and recommended configurations.

1.5 M.2 Card Installation

Instructions for installing M.2 SSDs, including the use of thermal pads for single-sided or double-sided mounted SSDs. Ensure the thermal pad protective film is removed.

Chapter 2: BIOS and RAID

2.1 What is UEFI?

UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is a modern graphical interface that replaces the traditional BIOS. It offers enhanced functionality and user-friendliness. Default UEFI settings are optimized for most environments. Adjust settings only if necessary and with expert advice.

2.2 UEFI BIOS Utility

The UEFI BIOS Utility allows you to adjust system parameters, enable/disable features, and update the BIOS. You can enter the UEFI BIOS Utility by pressing or during POST. The utility supports mouse input. Load Optimized Defaults () to restore default settings if the system becomes unstable after changes. CMOS clear can also be used to reset settings.

The UEFI BIOS Utility has two modes: EZ Mode and Advanced Mode. Switch between modes using .

2.3 ASUS EZ Flash 3 Utility

ASUS EZ Flash 3 is a utility that allows you to update the UEFI BIOS quickly without entering the OS. Ensure you load optimized defaults before updating. Use a FAT32/16 formatted USB drive. Do not interrupt the BIOS update process.

2.4 ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3

ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 is a tool to recover a corrupted UEFI BIOS using a USB memory. Rename the BIOS file to "ASUS.CAP" or "PB660AD4.CAP" on the USB drive. The system will automatically detect and recover the BIOS. After recovery, load optimized defaults.

2.5 RAID

The motherboard supports Intel® Rapid Storage Technology for SATA RAID 0/1/5/10. Refer to the RAID configuration manual for setup details. RAID 0 (striping) improves speed. RAID 1 (mirroring) provides data redundancy. RAID 5 (striping with parity) offers a balance of performance, redundancy, and capacity. RAID 10 (mirroring + striping) combines the benefits of RAID 0 and RAID 1.
